Thanks Ray,
hadn't thought about it like that. The new van will have alloys and so my old wheel clamp(Sold Secure) is no use(and was nightmare to fit). Elddis sell, as an extra, a Diamond standard wheel lock at £299 which seems a lot. I know CC insurance asks for a wheel lock so will check that this would be acceptable.

Not necessarily. Instead of buying two locks for my twin axle Elddis I told the CC insurance I wouldn't be fitting wheel clamps/locks. Okay, so the premium went up slightly but the difference in premium against the £600 for the locks will take years before I'm out of pocket.

I originally used a chain on my Burstner as the wheel arch fairings made it difficult to get a clamp on. I told CC Insurance and they were quite happy with a Sold Secure rated chain and lock. I have just changed vans to an Elddis single axle and asked them about using the same chain - no problems, no increase in premium. I imagine they would be less happy with any old chain, though.

Mine is Sold Secure and Thatcham Approved sold by SAS Products
