Simple in the Houses of Parliament! Last night whilst bored and being a sad person(no need to all agree)I watched digital channel 81 which is Parliament live and there at around 9pm was a debate to evolve more power to the Mayor of London.In the house when they showed a full shot were around 24 MPs after much boring waffle the division was called and the vote took place.They lined up in front of the speaker and gave the result............... 186 against and 289 for the motion.Now thats democracy ,you dont listen to or take part in the debate but stay in the bar/restaurant (on expenses) and then vote on a subject that you know nothing about.No wonder the country is in a mess.

I'd like that job! On second thought s no I wouldn't. I think I would fall out with these overpaid underworked spongers on the first day.

It's far more democratic in the Upper House where the bar is next door to the chamber. The saloon style doors make it easier to listen to the debates although sometimes it can be hard due to the infernal shuffling of members with their walking aids and the hearing aid appliances whistling.

Ewan as long as I've strength in my pins I prefer to walk to the bar .. I must get my daily grope of Bibi the barmaid ;O)

Respect M'Lord. You must be the talk of the house. The other Lords must look upon you in disgust as the are wheeled about by their personnal nurses/doctors/bat men or what ever. In fact, arn't you too young to be in such company?

Indeed the upper house is clearly more refined that the lower house with the rif raf that frequent that chamber although I must say that when I had afternoon tea at the House with Lord Snowdon and having peered in (excuse the pun)to the upper house most were asleep.
