When to buy a new caravan?

When is a good time to buy new?

- at the NEC show?

- at the end of the camping season

- now when some dealers are doing "Summer Sales"

- when 2007 specs are announced

Do list prices always go up in September?

How long does it really take to get a new van delivered? Our local dealer was telling us that we may just get one for March 2007 if we order now!

We only decided at Whitsun to pension off our old trailer tent and we're probably going to have to buy new as we want a lightish fixed bed and there are almost none on the market second hand. It's not important to get one for August as we've booked a pitch with no hook-up but September/October would be nice to catch the tail end of the season.

Hi Tim,

When you say new do you mean current year model. We bought our Elddis as an ex-demo model at the end of last year at a large discount. So although it is new, it is an old model although there was little change in spec for 2006.

Our Swift Fairway (dealer model) was ordered in July and was available for collection in late September.

Hope this helps.

Hi Fab ,

We have been given a July build for the same van 460/4, will advise if Baileys will keep to this .
