I would not know one way or the other, but they do tend to be a tad conspicuous!
So either it is taking up a great deal of underbunk space or if not, strapped underneath the van close to or between the axle/s

TC on our Sterling the onboard tank is under the nearside bed or sofa . but if you look under the van you should be able to see it .
Im guessing here but it should have a nice big blue tap on it to drain down
Best I can do

We have a large tank under the offside seating but Himself thinks it is just the hot water tank and is fed by the Aquaroll. He is under the impression that onboard tanks are for storing cold water that have to be filled independently and then just topped up by the Aquaroll. When we turn off the hot water taps there is a chunterring sound from under the sink for a few seconds. The manual is not very user friendly.I know this must sound very daft as we have used the van for so long and still learning.DUHHH!!!

Point one is the 'hot' water tank is part of the hot water heater, caravans don't have separate hot tanks, so any other large and uninsulated tank will be for cold water storage. There should also be a large screw cap for access for cleaning?
Methods of filling vary, have you got a switch on the control panel labelled 'int' / 'Ext'? ie. Internal and External, this will be how you fill the interanl tank likely via a two way valve. (Often on the outside and a dead give away, there is a manual filler with lockable cap, much like the cars fuel filler cap?)
By switching to External and turning the valve, you divert water from the aquaroll into the internal tank, then switch to Internal and water come to the taps from the internal tank using a second water pump.
As it is you are probably using external with the valve set for direct supply to taps from the aquaroll.

TC. if your settings are correct tehn you will be able to shower two people from the on board tank and the aquaroll will keep the on board tank topped up.
All you have to do is aquaint yourself with the setttings for the tank fill Im sure you will find this si much easier as you wont have to fill the aquaroll so often.

Hi Dame TC, have you sussed it yet?
If and when you find it please let me know what you are to do with it!
Perhaps I'm being thick (OK I am) but what purpose do they serve, looks like extra work to me, filling, cleaning, steralising etc.
Think Ive just sussed out why your hubby does'nt want one and denies its there

I mean if you are on a service pitch = constant flow of water
Worst case on standard pitch you fetch water every so often.
Happy hunting

Sir Roger, sorry didnt read the last sentence " you dont have to fill the aquaroll so often"
Two questions though
Do you get enough hot water?
And surely you have to run back and forth to fill the onboard tank in the first instance.
Perhaps I'm being silly because I dont have one and am jealous really

Hi Kev.
Question one the answer is yes the water will be hot enough but our Van has a quick heat system on so there is no problem with two showers.
Erm I think the answer is to part two Youve not seen Lady FFSmyth shops at Bonne Marche(Fat Shop) and part three yes when youve used the onboard tank you have to top up again but dont forget you start with a full tank and the aquaroll starts to top it up at a cetain level wouldnt be without ours unless of course we are on a fully seviced pitch.
We are now drained down for the winter now so it just a case of check it over every few weeks until?????

I cannot vouch for an underslung tank, but inboard tanks come into their own during freezing weather, also being bigger and with an aquarol full in reserve, I've also appreciated the benefits while watching someone rushing to refill while it's hissing down!!

Thank you all muchly for your help and assistance. The situation at present is this,Himself has a new shed, that my bro-in -law put up for him,and all other matters are on hold as he is busy filling it up with all the gadgets he has acquired but cannot operate properly!!! No, the caravan will not fit in it!! The main reason for finding about the on board tank is that if we do have one and it is not the one under the seat how do we know if it is empty and properly serviced? I think we should have stuck with a van more suited to our IQ,I think the new shed is about the right level of techno for us.I can see I am going to have get on the case.
Gracious gratitudes
TC (Dame of the WC)
