Which Battery for my Mover

Hi, I have just took the plunge and purchased a motor mover for our twin axle van. While I was doing my homework into which one to buy I had mixed feedback to which size battery I would need (85amp or 110amp). It is a Powertouch Twin (the one with 2 motors) and my van is 1642kg. I will only use it to put the van back into storage which is flat with no obsticles and to pitch on the occasional difficult to get onto pitch. I already have the 85amp and would like to avoid spending more money plus the weight issue. Which one do I need? thanks in advance for any feedback, Craig.

I have a Powrtouch mover fitted to my twin axle, went for the four motor version which obviously will have a higher power demand than yours. I upgraded my 85 battery to a 100 and have had no problems. A 110 is recommended by the mover manfacturer but given the circumstances described by yourself how you use the mover, I'm sure your current (no pun intended) battery will do.

On my previous van, single axle, also with a mover fitted, I used the 85 battery and never had a problem.

I have just had am powertouch all wheel mover fitted also.

I have a 110amp leisure battery fittedbut I think it will still need rechrging every 2-3 months...

Also Rob T - when you turn you van with mover does it ever look like some of the wheels are bending or under lots of stress???

Will this damaage the Al-co Chasis???

Yes, when you are trying to turn a twin axle one set of wheels seems to fight against the other.The engineer who fitted the unit explained this was normal for a twin axle and would cause no damage to wheels, tyres or chassis.

Depending on usage or whether you're using E.H.U. pitches you might need to recharge the battery more often than every 2-3 months.
