Wind, Awning Poles, Dents & Suction Cups

Hi, reading the various messages on dents etc we suffered from dents and scratches due to the wind when we put up our Scenic lightweight porch awning.

The long pole around the top moved in the wind, denting the caravan - now we have it sorted - we bought 2 suction cups (about 90p each)and put each end of the pole into one - the awning doesn't move now like it used to do and the poles can't dent the caravan because they are fixed into the cups.

Give this a try - maybe for less than £2 you can save your caravan having dents !

Cheers Annabel, good tip. I have a scenic lightweight porch awning but I haven't used it in windy conditions yet but I'll be using it on holiday from next weekend.

That is a good tip Annabel, we have been doing this for a while now and have no damage to our van. We did have to cut 2 slots in the suction cup to allow the top pole to fit properly with the awning shape.

Graeme.
