Hi All, well this weekend has been a bit of a nightmare, problems with this new Computer system at last being investigated , and to add to that my wireless HP Photosmart 5510 has decided not to print in black .Its only 18 months old .
My computer tells me that the printer is fully operational , been through all the checks on the printer , there are quite a few, but alas it still prints in light blue All the inks are quite full in fact it printed two brilliant photos of birds, but alas no black prints.
I then went onto the Web asking the question, believe I am not alone with this problem, loads of others their 5510 just suddenly stopped printing with the black ink, no results so far , trip to the dump appears to be the answer.
Now the question is what make of Printer would you recommend, many thanks Royston

Hi Ryston
We have the Epson WF 2530.. I can really recommend this printer, and can be used with laptop, ipad and iPhone.

It was really easy to set up. And comes complete with the four ink cartridges required.

HI Tony G , thanks for replying, I have given the Epson some thought, have not looked around our local electrical shops yet, is the Epson reasonable quite in operation, the reason for asking is that our present redundant HP printer sounded like a bag of nails in a empty tin when performing its initial start up .

.........have you tried a new black ink cartridge?
These cartridges are more complicated pieces of kit than most people think.
I have had new black ink cartridges that will not work......although no problems with genuine HP cartridges.

Hi All,
Yes that's what annoyed me about the printer, I have always used HP printer refills halfway through printing it just stopped using black ink, no matter what I tried it still printed in faded blue, went through all the printers self help procedures until it finally came up take it back for further investigation, I could see a lot of wasted money being used , so just checking the web was amazed at the amount of frustrated people with the same problem .My printer being only 18 months old.
I am lucky that I have 3 large electrical stores close at hand, Hughes Electrical who only sell Epson
printers final bought model XP312, with a additional handy 3 year replacement warranty for £15 .
