Has anyone vitied Wood Farm Caravan site in Dorset?

It's been recommended to us but we aren't sure whether it's a bit too commercial.

Any views gladly received.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi Tom

We had a bad experiance here with teens playing very rowdy football around our new van, parents didnt care when told.

Its not very level either, but I have also seen good reviews so maybe it was it being bank hol andthe site was packed.

Regards

We have been to Wood farm a couple of times, it is a CC managed site. I would not say it is at all commercial. It is certainly a beautiful site, it is a tiered site down a valley, there is a fishing lake at the bottom and a bit of a games room and two (or three?) toilet blocks if I remember correctly. The main drawback we found is the adjacent main road (A36?) a fast stretch and noisy because it is on a hill. Having said that we have not pitched furthest away from the road but again from memory, I think the far side is a few statics and a camping area. We would not tell anyone NOT to go there as we enjoyed it but the last time was about 3 years ago and we feel we may have got more fussy as time has gone on (we were in our early days of caravanning then)

Give it a go would be my recommendation.

Hi Tom,Spent a week at Wood farm last July, Its a lovely site but very hilly indeed, the best pitches are the fully serviced pitches which are bigger and seem more on the level side. we were unfortunate to get a pitch at the bottom of the site and was a trek up the hill to get to the reception. The toilets facilities are clean but if i am truly honest have been to much better. The site is clean and well kept with a great coffee shop by the indoor swimming pool. The dog walk was excellent, situated away from the pitches and lead into a massive open field ( The dog loved it ).

Would go back but next time book a fully serviced pitch as that area of the site looked better. On arrival you are lead to your pitch by a bloke on a four wheel scooter so you really cant decide which pitch you prefer yourself. Some of the pitches looked better and more level than others. All in all not a bad site if you are lucky to get a pitch near the top of the site where the views are fantastic but we couldn't see much at the bottom when we where there. Hope this helps you Tom if you have any more questions don't be afraid to ask.
