Near impossable, we had the same when the kettle bounced out. We filled the dent and covered it with a small unassuming transfer sticker (hobby shops and every where in Spain). It does not notice. Dealers sometimes place a glass hot plate over it, fixed with silicone. The latest with caravan scenes seems appropriate. Any fill will always show and a cut out even worse as it is a egg crate construction under.

I've got a table which was damaged by something heavy falling out of a locker. I'd also be interested to get some idea of what sort of price these companies charge. I will send an email enquiry once I've taken a photo of the damaged table, but might be put off if the price is too high (Bailey wanted nearly 120 GBP to replace it - just a small side table!)

I have managed to achieve a reasonably good repair of a similar small dent by filling it with layer upon layer of enamel paint of the same colour as the worktop. The enamel is about as hard-wearing as the original surface so I expect the end result to be a permanent repair, However, a roughly 2-3mm deep dent did need about 10 coats of paint. Each drop of paint had to be wiped flat and then allowed to dry thoroughly before applying the next, before all signs of the dent disappeared. Any excess paint which gets on to the undamaged surface of course has to be wiped clean immediately before it has a chance to dry.
It' may be worth trying. It'll certainly be the cheapest alternative even though it's a bit fiddly and takes a bit of time to get the desired result.

Jim.

If i remember correctly I sent a couple of pictures of the damage to them and they gave me an estimate to fix it. They came to my house and did it, Cannot remember what I paid but it was to a very high standard.

What you need is Colorfill. This comes in a tube in a huge range of colours and will be available from your builders merchant although you will get a better range of colours from a laminate worktop distributor.B+Q do a limited range. Also get a small bottle of solvent. You wll get a pro result and pay about £8.Its what us kitchen fitters use.Good luck.

Depnds on how large a dent and where it is. I would go to a modern cookshop and look for a small stainless steel trivet. Then let this in to the work surface and you have somewhere to stand a hot pot or kettle as well as having repaired the surface. if you get it squarly lined up with the sink etc. it will look 'meant' rather than accidental. Other place to try would be stores like Lakeland.
