Hi well we started caravanning last year. I bought an Elddis Cyclone XL which is perfect for our needs (but with the usual odd problem) Im 25 and my partner is 24 we have a daughter who is 3 who absoloutly get the most out of caravanning, she loves it.

I just wondered if there was any more 'young caravanners' out there as a lot of the people we meet are a little older (not that its a problem, iv learned so much from friendly caravanners, i reckon if the country was run by the caravanning community it would be a much nicer place to live in!!)

Hi Keith,

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Although in the 'older'catagory, one of our daughters has just started caravanning. She is 30, so classed as ' young'

Hi Keith

Welcome glad to hear you are enjoying caravaning, although again from the older caravaners, "but young at heart", hope you enjoy as we all do!!!

Although must say the local club we belong to we are the youngest members so called the youngsters LOL (yes some of them are old (80+)) and yes you will find they have a wealth of knowledge.

Enjoy

Keith, we have just come back to caravanning after a 25year break, yes we caravanned with our only daughter back in 1982, first in a Lunar Moonlight and then in a plush Abbey Westminster. We felt at that time the same as you, young ones with the oldies but believe me they were the best holidays of our lives, rolled up on site my daughter jumped out of the car the next time we saw her was for tea, we loved every minute of it, we caravanned for the next 6 years until work caused us to give it up.

We still look through all the photos of those happy hols and can't understand why we never came back to it earlier.

Hi Keith,

We are about to start our caravan adventures in July.

The caravan is packed and ready to go.

We are 38 and 39 years old and our kids are 8 and 4, we can't wait for help/ advice from old and young alike!

Caravanning is the way to go!

We might see you at some point, we are going to Yellowcraigs in North Berwick.

Hello Susan and everyone. Our children are 6 and 4 and we are 35 and 36. Caravanning increases our family`s quality of life. I love Yellowcraig but dont want to repeat myself!-(my review is on ukcampsite.co.uk..my e-mail name cara89) We started 3 years ago with an older caravan and used it so much we have up-graded. The small differences make a huge impact and the cosy, comfortable van fitting our needs may now take us out of season for trips now as well. This is a good thought as my hubbie has just undergone back surgery and we are on hold till he re-cuperates. I now can do all the waste, water, toilet etc as we wre preparing for this (altho I just know he wants in on the action soon!) its the towing and un-hitching that there is now a wee problem with. Cant wait for the sea air again and the kids want their bunks and caravan toys!x

Yes! Its nice to see what you describe on sites. I would suggest going to a site that takes tents as well-more laid back-nice to wander round at night seeing and smelling the BBQs and seeing families playing outdoor games , more people outside. Tables loaded with beer, wine and snacks and laughter

....and now folks may retaliate saying "Well why havent you got a tent then, Caroline?"

Sorry, I am a funny mixture... I love fresh air and freedom but I am a girls girl and get attracted to comforts!! My caravan bathroom is amazing. In other words ` Big it up for caravans!- never say you wouldnt cos you like your comforts!!` I have exactly what I need when I need it! And if I have the chance to pull out the chair on a nice night and look at the sea then I will take it. Cant beat itx

Not sure which bracket I fit into.

I'm 43 the wifes 38 and we have a 3 1/2 year old.

I've been camping since I was about 7 firstly in tents with my mums cub pack , then in camper vans with my cousin , Aunt and Uncle travelling all over Europe.

We initially had Motorhomes but migrated to a caravan 2 years ago.

Best holidays we've had have been whilst camping (with the exception of when we got married in Florida 15 years ago).

Enjoy
