Bailey Ranger GT 60 - New Caravan Range

Interestingly, the GT60 is based on the Swift Charisma according to the salesmen. I have not seen the GT60 but the Swift does seem to have similar extras. Why then is the Bailey model equivalent about

    Satellite Sets

Thanks for that Reg. I have looked at that site and found it very useful. I just wanted to make sure that having read the stuff, I was then buying the right kit. Anymore advice would be more than welcome, as I am really ignorant in this area. Alex

    Satellite Sets

Firstly, I am a total novice to all this satellite stuff and until this year it was a non event. However some very kind chap in the Loire showed me his and I am hooked. As the above novice, I think I need 3 things: TV (Comet

    Kia Sportage

We have a Sportage as well. Tow an Abbey Aventura 316 with it. Get about 36 round town (solo) and between 26 and 30 towing depending on speed etc. Best towcar we have had so far, but have only had 4x4.

Land Rover Sign of the times

The 4x4 issue may be one point, but I feel that Landrover have hit the wrong market with the new Freelander. The old TD4 at the basic level was cheaper and had a spare wheel. A basic Freelander 2 is a nearer

    SwiftvBailey or vica versa

We are considering changing the van next year. Currently have Aventura (Swift). The replacement, a Charisma seems to be about £500 more than the Bailey. As a discussion point, what advantages does one have over the other? We have been pleased with the Abbey, but it is a big investment. Thank you.

    Calling Kath At Swift.....

Kath, This is not directly concerning these posts, but seeing that you are on here then can you answer this? If one buys a Swift van from a dealer some distance from where you live, because they have a good reputation/ deal etc, do you have to take the van back to that dealer for warranty work...

    Swift

I would love to buy a Hymer, Selwyn. However, living in Cornwall there are not that many good dealers and certainly not German vans ones (if you see what I mean). Secondly, on reading articles on this forum, the dealerships are open to question in a lot of cases. The whole caravan purchase...

    Thinking new SWIFT: good idea?

I have just read that the Charisma had 'Grade 2 classification for heating and thermal insulation'. What does this really mean? Many motorhomers/caravanners go on about winterisation. At what temp does this insulation work down to? With housing insulation we are all becoming...

Question for Swift. On the Vogue 2 and design in general.

Your comments are interesting Rich and I tend to agree. Caravanning may indeed be a growth industry, much was stated in the press before this recent financial crisis. We intend to change our van next season, but if prices go up as much as they are doing and deals are not forthcoming then we will...

    Clermont Ferrand

Thank you for that Val. I have looked at the campsites in the area from your information and there seems to be a CC site at Royat. May give that a go, unless you have any other thoughts. Alex

Just looking at the map, has anyone any thoughts about Clermont Ferrand. Things to do/see. Should we bother? Thank you Alex

    What Car Magazine

Could this site start up a Reader's views on Caravans in the same way as its sister Mag, What Car? There are also comments on dealerships.
