    which is best

Yes, it gets a little frightening, doesn't it? I've heard all sorts of rumours about increased taxation charges for 4X4s. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are just that - rumours. The yoghurt-eating, tree-hugging crowd don't seem to be able to understand that my X-Trail uses less fuel...

    For better or worse !!

A very interesting thread, Paul. Thanks for introducing it. My partner and I are both around 60 and are expecting to retire next year and so are just at the point where we have to make decisions re caravan etc. Like Mick, we also started with tents, and then some 20 years ago when we were living...

    Towing European spec Caravan

Apologies for prolonging the saga! I have now spoken to Towsure who assure me they sell both versions of the connector, even though only one is shown on the website!

the map or sat nav ?

Earlier this month I hired an Opel Astra for a week in Germany and it came fitted with in-built GPS. It was absolutely fantastic, we didn't have to look at a map all week, and the voice instructions could be programmed to be in English. The greatest benefit was that it warned of accidents, jams...

    Towing European spec Caravan

On re-visiting the Towsure website I think I may have jumped the gun! It would appear from the description that the adapter is designed for a towing vehicle with one connector and a caravan with two. I actually need the arrangement the other wat around! I'll keep looking!

    X-Trail Tyres

My X-Trail documentation refers to tyre rotation in two places. One recommends rotation at 3000 miles, the other at 6000 miles. My local Nissan dealership states that they only need to be rotated when the car is serviced. 2 emails to Nissan Customer Support requesting clarification have been...

    Towing European spec Caravan

I have a Nissan X-Trail 2.2 dCi Sport fitted with normal twin electric sockets. I have been offered the use this summer of a Hobby caravan belonging to a relative living in Germany. This caravan has the continental single connector. Is there any way of marrying the two systems? A dedicated...

    Nissan X Trail

I have an X-Trail and I am delighted with it. I bought it new about 6 months ago, and it is the 2.2 dCi Sport. However, I have not been able to achieve your fuel consumption figures. I am normally able to get very close to manufacturers' figures with any car I buy, but I have not been able to...

    Towing European spec Caravan

I have a Nissan X-Trail 2.2 dCi Sport fitted with normal twin electric towing sockets. A relative, who is stationed in Germany, has offered me the use of his Hobby caravan this summer. Only problem: his caravan has the continental one socket connector. Is it possible to marry the two in any way...
