    Fancy a new Swift?

We purchased ours new in 2016, looked great in the showroom, love the layout and it tows well. But the build quality has been abysmal, having had three locker drawers drop off (the first one on its first outing, resulting in staining to bedding and carpets), the well publicised sink drainer...

    Car satnavs

Don`t know which system it is TBH, asked at the dealership and all I got was "you can update it by downloading the updates on line` which i have done . Car was registered in June 2020 so may just have been on the cusp of a chagneover?

    Car satnavs

I have a 2020 Volvo V60 and TBH the sat nav in it is really a useless decoration. Utterly rubbish. Yes, I`ve tried updating it but a map and A-Z would be quicker, easier and more accurate. We were in Pembrokeshire on holiday last year and wanted to from Haverfordwest to St.Davids. Well I know...

Faulty Caravan Tyres only 4 years old.

The `van was brand new from a dealer. It was straight from Swift as it had been on order and we had been awaiting delivery from the factory. I can only attribute the problem to substandard manufacture or product and Swift going for the cheapest tyres available without doing due diligence.

Faulty Caravan Tyres only 4 years old.

I think they just relied upon people getting their first service to check them. The sidewalls were fine, the tyres were cracked all around the base of the tread.

Faulty Caravan Tyres only 4 years old.

Don`t know TBH, I took it for it`s first service and the dealer made a beeline for wheels as soon as I arrived and after a cursory glance told me I needed new tyres and Swift would pay for them. Obviously part of a dodgy batch of the cheapest black rings they could find.

Faulty Caravan Tyres only 4 years old.

My (then new) 2016 Swift had it`s tyres changed at its first service (under warranty) due to cracking!

    Government report on trailers.

I would question the validity of the published figures as I have little confidence in those carrying out the checks. A couple of years ago I was pulled into a checkpoint in Bala (not towing. but driving a truck showing orange plates) where they were predominantly checking trailers. As expected...

    Site recommendations near Haworth, Yorkshire?

I`ve not stopped there as I live too close, but I`ve driven past Newsholme Manor Restaurant certificated site and it looked clean, spacious with a nice eating place on site. Hook up but not much more, but cracking views and walking distance to Oakworh village. Haworth is barely a couple of...

has anybody took there van to the isle of man if yes what site did you use and ferry cheers

I`d like to visit the I.O.M, but think I`d have to fly as I wouldn`t use the I.O.M Steam Racket Company as a matter of principle. Some years ago I was quoting for some business involving transport to England. We found we couldn`t compete on rates as we were getting charged massively more than a...

    New tow car (used)

I`ve had a V60 diesel (D4, 190 bhp, auto) for 12 months now (an ex demo Volvo car, so nearly 2 years old. I had BMW 520D M-sport Tourings for the last 10 years so wasn`t sure how it would stack up, especially with the BMW having self-levelling suspension at the rear. Biggest surprise was the...

Any recommendations for a quite site near Ely please

Have a look at the Heatherbield CL, we were there some years ago and really couldn`t fault it. The newer reviews confirm it is still as brilliant, and getting greeted with tea and homemade cup-cakes on arrival even made the journey worthwhile.

    Quiet at Longleat CAMC

Funny, but when we were at Longleat we went cycling the Kennet and Avon canal to see the Caen Hill locks near Devizes and came upon a C&CC site next to the canal. I`ve been a member for a few years but never used any of their sites, so called in for a look (cracking site it appeared). I asked...

    Quiet at Longleat CAMC

We were at Longleat for Easter and it was really quiet, less than 50% occupancy. Maybe others had heard of the delightful female warden - "pitch your van with the offside corner in line with the marker post, if you are not perfectly in line with the peg and square on to it you WILL be required...

    Rear suspension gone walkabouts.

I`ve changed enough springs to have paid for my spring compressors several times over. The last one to go, on my 5-series BMW. actually snapped one morning when I opened the drivers door. Springs should ALWAYS be replaced in pairs (as per dampers), apart from the fact that if ones goes the other...
