Hi I tow with a Zafira 1.9 diesel (150) only pull 1300Kg max caravan its great.

Towsure do a detachable towbar for the Zafira. I have one on mine its great takes about 30 sec to fit. No bumper cut needed

I have had a similar problem on my Olympus, I could only open the locker by pulling down at the same time as operating the latch. Once open I found it easy to slacken the 4 retaing screws on the latch and move it downwards before retightening. Hope this helps
