    Winterhoff Stabiliser

Thanks again for the comments. I've now bought and fitted the Winterhoff. It's something of a revalation!!! I have only had ALKO before and whilst that is a good product the Winterhoff is far better suited to vehicles that have a spare wheel in the way, with the bonus that there is only one...

    Alko manoeuvring handle

Hello sedo, totally agree with what Ray S says. The handle makes life much easier. We have a motor mover as well as the handle but sometimes it's easier just to give the 'van a little 'tug' with the handle rather than engaging the mover. Perhaps the best way to put it is that if the handle...

    Winterhoff Stabiliser

Thanks for the info, I've decided against the ALKO detachable handle as it's just another bit of hassle and gone for the Winterhoff. Only bad side to that is it's £300 including a decent hitchlock!! Still anything that makes life easier. Just to add that I've only had a couple of posts on here...

    Winterhoff Stabiliser

Has anyone out there fitted a Winterhoff stabiliser head to an Alko chassis? My Abbey Vogue has the Alko stabiliser but the handle catches on the Jeep spare wheel when hitching/unhitching. It seems the Winterhoff design would not. The Winterhoff blurb says it can be retro fitted to any...

I have now received an email from Purleline, quote "We hold stock of some spares for our movers. They can be repaired if necessary." Take that as you will!

    Adult only sites in Norfolk?

Thanks catlady, Stoney Brook looks like our kind of site (we prefer the small ones) Are the owners there as severe as they look in their website photos? Surely running a campsite can't be that tough!!!!

    Purpleline motor mover

Hello, I've just finished fitting and testing a Purpleline Enduro II motor mover to my Abbey Vogue. Am just posting this to say I think it's a bargain (£549 from World of Camping). It's well made and has no trouble moving over 1400kg. It took me rather longer than the 2 hours advertised but then...

    Mounting a 13 pin socket

New caravan 13 pin plug, so a nice Sunday afternoon job to change the 7 pin 12N & S sockets to a nice new 13 pin one. WRONG. The rubber boot on the 13 pin plug is too large to go through the existing plate! Back to dealer - no they haven't got any 13 pin mounting plates, nor it seems has anyone...

    fixing to caravan walls

I want to fit a 1kg fire extinguisher to the wall of my 'van. Can anyone suggest the best fixing method? Is the innner lamination strong enough to allow the use of household cavity fixings or is there a specific 'caravan' type fixing available? Any info/experience welcomed. Ta
