    Air awning advice please

As people above have stated, both have plus and minus. We have a Kampa 390 air awning and annex.Never had a problem with bladders or collapse in the wind. We have had issues with condensation but I think that’s a kampa issue, not an air awning issue. They are heavy, but as you stated you’re not...

    Lake Garda

Hi Tourer, We went in summer 23, you won’t be disappointed. Like you we traveled from north west England, overnight ferry to Caen(I know it’s a longer route)then diagonal across france(500 miles in a day on main roads) couple of days rest near Grenoble then drive through the frejus tunnel past...

How long in time or distance is your tow per day?

As some of the posts say, driving several hours on a French motorway is very different to driving several hours on say the M6. It’s so much easier/less stressful/enjoyable driving on the continent.

How long in time or distance is your tow per day?

Usually we tow about 300miles for a main holiday in one stint, although we did tow diagonal across France at about 500 miles in a day, that was a needs must and won’t be repeated as it was a stretch. Most tows are about the 100mile mark for weekend or Easter breaks.

    When does your season end

All year,I especially like a nice, clear, frosty morning. Don’t like damp dismissal weather, not good for morale.

    Which route to Lake Garda?

When we went last year,we did a couple of nights near Grenoble then directly through the frejus tunnel and Turin,Milan and onto Garda. The tunnel was about £60 I think. We went this route as we didn’t think towing over the mountain passes was a good idea/feasable.

Touring caravan twin axle in and around lake garda

Hi markyboy,We stayed at Baia verde last summer, very nice. Its bottom left of the lake.Virtually all the lakeside sites are easy access to lake and paths around, restaurants are aplenty. Pitches on most of the sites aren’t exactly massive, you are crammed in a bit. Absolutely stunning area.Enjoy

    Large awnings. Airbeam or pole?

Having had both types, they’ve both got good and bad points. However, one thing nobody ever talks about is the weight of an air awning (we’re talking 3/4 or full awnings) with poles you usually have a bag for poles and a bag for awning, with air it’s just one big(and I mean big) and heavy ( if...

Any Touring sites which have hedges between pitches?

Holgates( silverdale) all serviced pitches, not all but most have hedges .Really big pitches if you go to top of site, although you’re then the furthest away from the main building, which houses a swimming pool, small bowling lanes, restaurant and bar. There are a couple of kids play parks dotted...
