    Volvo XC60 - petrol experience

Final thanks for all advice - a useful discussion..... On balance, my son reckons he'll be looking for the diesel version - as it happens they are cheaper than the petrol XC60 in NZ so he'll be able to afford a newer vehicle. Cheers

    Volvo XC60 - petrol experience

Thank you everyone for all the interesting comments - that has all given us good food for thought. It's interesting that we have had no responses from owners of petrol engines XC60s of that age - it just shows that the petrol version was not a popular towcar. Food for thought! My own 2017...

    Volvo XC60 - petrol experience

Thanks for the Forrester info - that's what I feared but I wonder whether petrol Volvos are as thirsty..... Regarding petrol v diesel, emissions are not relevant as my son lives in New Zealand where they don't seem to care about stuff like that. I sense that he instinctively favours petrol, but...

    Which are best fitted sheets?

    Which are best fitted sheets?

Yes, we looked at Jonic - they are considerably more expensive than the alternatives. We'd really like to stick with fitted sheets - getting lazy in our old age (!). So i was wondering whether any of the cheaper alternatives are still good quality. Thanks

    Which are best fitted sheets?

We have a 2021 Bailey Vigo and need to replace the island bed fitted sheet. There are a number of potential suppliers to be found by Google search. Any suggestions, please about best quality / best fit / minimum ironing options. We'd be grateful for any thoughts.

Caravan in Lake District late September - TV & WiFi ?

We were finding sites booked up for our dates, so have grabbed a pitch at Caravan Club site Borrowdale to get us going. That site has no facilities, but no problem for us. that will cover the northern lakes and am no looking at sites near Windermere area for the second stop. Thanks for all help.

Caravan in Lake District late September - TV & WiFi ?

Ok, OK, I know that we should get away from technology when we are caravanning, but with darker evenings approaching we are thinking of a couple of weeks in the Lake District. We haven't been there for 30 or more years. We'd like a smaller informal site near to one of the lakes but we do want...

    Taking foodstuff into the EU

Yes, our instinct is to err on the side of caution. So we will have some eggs, a small quantity of prepared ("eviscerated") fish fillets and some bread or bread rolls. Thanks everyone for your thoughts. We can't wait to get abroad again - the UK is lovely and we've had a number of excellent...

    Taking foodstuff into the EU

We are crossing to Spain with our van in a couple of weeks time and are wondering whether we actually have to empty the fridge before we arrive in Santander? I'm aware that we mustn't import many fresh food items into the EU but can we take fridge contents for the first night or two, to save...

    Caravan site near Santander

Thanks carper2. I'm going to post a separate question in the forum, nearer our departure date, but I'd be interested in whether you had any hassle with Spanish Customs checking the contents of your fridge / food cupboards when you got off the ferry?
