    Luxembourg and Surround

Guess it depends what you want. We had great time staying at kocklescheur. Plenty of ww2 sites near Luxembourg for those interested. We took in Bruges & Ghent on the way, well worth it.

Which gear do you tow in?

-align: left; Thanks for the replies, I take LUTZ point , I probably didnt frame the question well. I was trying to ask if the recent that generate maximum torque are actually the best revs to aim for when crui sing along the motorways. My galaxy always feels a bit more comfortable with the revs...

Which gear do you tow in?

Perhaps I'm turning into a serious anorak but I was wondering what gear most folk tow in. My galaxy is six speed, I tend to chug along in fifth gear on cruise control. Is there an optimum number of revs I should aim for for best economy. I know max torque is at fairly low revs but what is most...

Getting onto the Channel Tunnel Trains?

Always find the flexibility of the tunnel a help. If you are early you can often get the next available train if it's in your price band. Also if you are late they will put you on the next available place. Add to that the joy of booking with tesco vouchers, I think the tunnel is so practical. I...

    Wheelclamp in France

Thanks Lutz. This explains why the policeman I spoke to was surprised at my level of security. I explained it was for insurance purposes and he shook his head. He showed me his collection of clamps but said none were as heavy as my Millenco. At least it was nice to have a friendly encounter...

    Wheelclamp in France

Time isn't the thing. Like you I have always thought it better to be safe than sorry. It's weight I'm trying to cut down on. I imagine the cautious Brit in me will make me take it. I'll keep thinking about it. Hope you all get some sun this year Rob

    Wheelclamp in France

Off to France again next month. Just wondering do folk normally take their wheel clamps with them. I have taken mine for years as well as a good hitchlock. After a very friendly chat with one of the local gendarmes in Metz I noticed that the French don't seem too bother. Historically I've...

    The Fauld explosion

Fauld Crater is close to us in Burton. I'm always amazed at the many theories about what caused the explosion, given that no one survived to tell.

    Sites near Avignon

Thanks Jo, On a slightly different note how do most folk break the trip up in terms of overnight stops on the way to Provence. We've been as far as the Lot Valley but this trip will be a bit further. I usually do around 100 mile into France on my first day as I will have already have done 200...

    Sites near Avignon

Many thanks, need to get the grey cells working now. We always go towards the end of August and have never booked anything in advance in over 15 years. We have been as far south as Carcassone in the west but have never done Provence. Your help is appreciated. Rob
