Thanks Paul. Yes it is it one piece and it's the corners where it is fracturing as you say due to the strain. I thought of maybe doing the same ie going over it with another thin sheet. This could be the way to go, cheers.

Thanks guys - The plastic plates have damage and then the middle bit under the plastic locker has a couple of dents too - you would have thought the plastic plates would cover the whole vulnerable area at the front. Since they knew it was a problem.
