    Concerned about caravanning with babies????

Thanks for all the replies - still in a quandry at the moment - my wife is still not convinced. Mac - you say you have 4 boys - presumably not quads (?), what are the age differences, and do you mean you started when the youngest was one? Thanks Ann - I do not have back copies - do you know...

Advice needed re. Toyota Lucida overheating

I have been doing some more research, and there does seem to be some common overheating issues with this car. Some people are suggesting getting a new "deep core" radiator fitted, others a fan - I'm not sure where to go from here - has anyone expereinced these issues and resolved them? Thanks

    Concerned about caravanning with babies????

We first took my daughter away when she was 3 months - everyone thought we were mad - she had never quite managed to sleep through the night - however, first night in the caravan she slept for 12 hours straight through, and has pretty much continued to do so ever since. We would not take the...

Advice needed re. Toyota Lucida overheating

I have recently changed caravans from an early 90's Ci Super Sprite (5 berth), to a mid 90's Swift Challenger. I tow with a 1994 Toyota Lucida Estima (grey import MPV), which is an automatic 2.2TD. It towed the Sprite absolutely fine, but it is overheating when towing the Swift. Does anyone...

    Vehicle advice please

Thanks for the feedback and advice. I keep hearing good things about the Surf, particularly the 3 litre, so if we get no joy with the Lucida, it looks like this is the way we will go. Thanks again

    Vehicle advice please

Just had the van serviced and everything regarding brakes etc is fine. In theory the weights should all be fine basing it on the UK Previa model, but it does feel a bit like the van is pushing the car on - the car feels like it is floating around under the control of the van, whereas with the...

    washing caravan and water ingress

Hi Ray. Yes, looking back i think we did a bit of overkill with the washing. Hose was left running on roof for 20 mins now we think about it. This is much much more than it would ever be subjected to normally. There is no smell of damp and walls are not spongy (except area around door which we...

    washing caravan and water ingress

We bought a 1994 swift challenger recently and my husband checked it thoroughly for damp with a damp test meter. He found a very small patch by the door. A week later we had the van serviced and damp was found coming in from both awning rails and around a window. This suprised us as we had found...

    Carver heating system

Thanks for the replies. Have tried those suggestions and unfortunately had no joy. My thoughts are maybe a heating element (?) as I had a similar issue with a fan oven oven before? My worry is if I buy it and then find I've got to spend

    Carver heating system

Hi, I am looking to buy a secondhand caravan at the moment and need some advice regarding one I have seen. It is a 1994 Swift Challenger. It is all good except for the heating. The water heating system works fine, but when I tested the blown air heating system, it was only emitting cold air -...
