    Family Caravan for tall people

The Weinsberg designs and vans are very nice. Very few options second hand. Pity Europe doesn’t use our plugs otherwise I would look for a bargain in Germany and tow it back.. lol

    Family Caravan for tall people

They can be but we only use awning in dry weather as no garage or outdoor area to dry if packed wet. Thus looking for the space in the van.

    Family Caravan for tall people

Thanks. The Tyne looks a good possibility. Checked specification on Adria site and one single is 203cm or 6ft 7”. Touch and go on MTPLM at 1700/1800 for my estate.

    Family Caravan for tall people

Hi After 12 years of caravanning in our triple bunk van it’s time to find a van that will accommodate our teenagers and us. The problem is with me being 6ft 1 and my son being 6ft 3 we’ll need a van with a good double made up from lounge seats for me and the Mrs, and I think twin singles at the...

    Disco2 MOT Advisory Advice

Thanks for feedback. I don't think AA & RAC are offering inspection service on 4x4's currently hence I called the independent Land Rovet service company who have maintained the vehicle for last 3 years. Manager informs me that they carried out the repairs recently and although they offer an...

    Disco2 MOT Advisory Advice

Hi I am in process of looking to buy a 52 plate Disco2 and on checking the MOT history online I note the vehicle recently failed on Fuel System Component Leaking (7.2.3) **dangerous** & offside rear brake hose ferrule excessively corroded (3.6.B.4e). There are advisorids for: N/S brake hose...

    Land rover Discovery 2001 TD5 v Volvo XC90 2011 2.4 D5

I'm off to look at a Disco TD5 ES from 2002 and know to look out for the much improved model which came out on sale from 01-06-2002 with 700 improvements. Tell tale sign is the headlamps have the newer circular format within the oblong surrounding covers. I've taken a lot of advice and...

Is VW Phaeton 3.0 V6 TDI 4Motion a good tow?

Some great offers on these cars second hand and as they come with 4 wheel drive and strong engines they appear to be a good option and a classy ride to boot. Anyone know the tow ball weight limits? Anyone tried towing with a Phaeton?

Landrover Disco 2004 TD5 Auto or Manual?

Hi So it sounds like the older Disco is a fairly safe bet if well maintained but whats better for towing the Auto or the Manual. Also which will be less likely to need attention over time? ( i.e will auto box be more likely to cause less trouble?).

£14k tow car debate - what can beat a 2004 Range Rover 3.0 TDI V6

Love the statement about getting out the jungle & coincidently just heard a friend of the other half is selling her Land Cruiser to get a new one so I'll have to find out what she wants for it as its a good 2006 7 seat model... I'm looking at Disco 2 too - is their a owners forum with sales...

£14k tow car debate - what can beat a 2004 Range Rover 3.0 TDI V6

I must have just been unlucky with the 2 I had. All I'm saying is that I don't trust the engine after two bad experiences on fully serviced cars. Another forum entry mentions the long life servicing could be contributing and both of mine were on long life so maybe the lesson is to change the oil...

My Passat DSG 170bhp had this issue and VW dealer just updated the mapping software and it was resolved instantly.

£14k tow car debate - what can beat a 2004 Range Rover 3.0 TDI V6

Ok - what are your top 2 suggestions? My VW Passat has lost £6.5k in 26 months. An older Range will likely lose £1k over same period if I buy the right car with a low mileage. Yes servicing is higher, insurance slightly more as is the road tax but these are partly offset by low depreciation...

£14k tow car debate - what can beat a 2004 Range Rover 3.0 TDI V6

Perhaps Prof - but from history weaker engined cars including 2.0 TDI VW units have failed to last a year without developing faults due to strained turbo's and that's for a chap towing within the 85% level. Prof, tell me, what car is better over 2-3 year period? I believe I would travel 12000...
