We have a spare wheel mounted one and it will take up to 4 bikes. You fit a plate behind the spare wheel and then a bit goes through the centre of the wheel and you padlock the carrier to it. Costs just over &80 and we have had one for series 1 and 2 - just make sure you buy the right one...

Hi Litespeed Many thanks for your reply. Van is Elddis Arundel (same layout as Avante 556) and car is Discovery 2. We are 70% towing match.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but have just changed vans. We used to put one bike on the rack on the car, which was on the centre of rear spare wheel, and then 2 in the van over the axle. The new van has fixed rear bunks which can fold up and we thought about stowing the 3 bikes there...

Can anyone please give advice on the causes of snaking? We recently experienced this - quite badly and it has really frightened us. We thought we were loaded correctly. Many thanks
