Help - knocking noise from tow bar/hitch/somewhere

As I said erlier, the ball joint on the short arm linking the tortion bar to the wishbone go but due to the strain in the tortion bar this can not be seen by shaking it etc. put a jack on it to relive the pressure and then give it a shake or use a crowbar.

South Wales to North Wales - best route?

As I have already said, there is no easy way, up the middle is no better. Go up one way and come back the other and see for yourself.

Help - knocking noise from tow bar/hitch/somewhere

If the noise is there without the van then the problem will be on the car but made worse with the van on. On the Mondeo there are two short linkages for the tortion bar with ball swivle ends, these are a common fault and difficult to spot, my money is on one of these. It was on my Mondeo.

    What can a van stand?

Have been in an official force 9 and was ok. The thing to remember is that all the buffeting loosens the corner steadies, so keep tightening them up. Put the car on the windward side. They dont call it Newgale for nothing with us in w wales.

    Bit of a shock

Working underneath the van I had a shock when I touched the chassis. So it occured to me that although the earth goes to the chassis it does not go to ground unless the corner steadies are down as it sits on rubber. And it further occured to me that it still will not go to ground as I use...

    problems with finding awning size

I had this problem, found awning to be too big after carefull measuring. The problem was that most caravan piches sag in the middle where the wheels are constantly putting the weight down. Just 2inches sag will make your awning 4ins to big. On level ground it fits fine, I find that putting the...
