    Sprite build quality

I have a 2012 Sprite Alpine 4. I have found the build quality great, but I bought mine used not new. Considering its now 7yrs old, its like new inside, but I am not sure how much use the previous owners had out of it (very little by the look of it!).

    My retirement

Fab news! Enjoy! My retirement plan is to do a tour of the U.K. over a couple of months, so slowly head down to Cornwall and back stopping along the way and on the way back. Only driving for 1 hour max and a week in each place! Only 30yrs to go!

    Service frustrations

Thanks Craig, will do. I clean it often enough to know every tiny spec on it so will know if anything is new Next year I’ll be using the mobile guy I normally use... done in 2hours and he’s the best.

    Service frustrations

They said their current turnaround is 10 days, which was fine. They have rang me this morning after my email last night and it’s done! Ready for collection!

    Service frustrations

So i took my caravan back to the dealer for its first service just incase it threw up any repairs that the warranty would cover. 10 days it will take they said... 12 days later... they have not even started due to “staff sickness”. I’ve got very limited time to collect it before my seasonal...

Thanks Damian, I will see how i get on

    Truma Thermostat

Yep a very useful post! My ultraheat dial is next to the door, and the duct is under the dial. This obviously effects the performance of the heating. I’ve picked up a remote thermostat today and will have a go at fitting it this week. I am going to attach it to the gas thermostat and see if that...

    ExpandingRetractable Water Hose

In principle, it sounds like a fab idea, but in reality they are cheap rubbish. They are very prone to leaks. The snap on connectors are cheap and leak all over the place. I wouldn’t buy another

    Thoughts appreciated

122 point check and a damp report isn’t included in it? I’ve never heard anything like it! I’m annoyed for you!

    Thoughts appreciated

What kind of dealer does not do a damp check? This suggests the van hasn't been serviced either (a damp check should be part of its service surely?). I would walk away. I have had a damp van, and it cost me 2k almost to be put right!

    Picking up first ever van

Exciting times! Is this your first Caravan? A pre departure check list is a top tip from me! I had a sticker in the window with all the usual check bits on. I then found an app for my phone (Caravan Buddy) which i absolutely love! You can make your own check list on it specific to your...

    Insulation & Keeping Warm

We are going seasonal too this year for the same dates, also metered electric. I’ve done winter caravanning for the past two years and found the heating/insulation to be absolutely fine. Heating wise, we have blown air heating. I leave it on low overnight, and turn it up during the day. Keeps...

    Little green tool

Mines attached to my motor mover remote! I must admit I have not had to use it yet tho and had my new caravan since July.

    Towbar wiring

Just to back this up, my car has stop/start, and this still functions whilst towing which suggest the supply well outweighs the demand.

    Stupid question!

Yea i do have the truma system and my old caravan had the same. Maybe its that! They have both always done it, but just wondered what it was!
