    3rd NEW FRONT PANEL

Hi. That Jeep was my faithful 1944 Willys---traveled all over the Continent in the 1960s from Northern Spain and the Italian Dolomites right up to Northern Norway ---in the snow in July. Pig sick that I sold it. They are now worth £19,500----and I found out the other day that it is still...

Hi WC. Those thick aluminium plates were there on my first and second panels----I pick up my 'van (back from the Lunar factory)tomorrow. Fingers crossed ??

    3rd NEW FRONT PANEL

Hi Dustydog. They are proper cracks. On the first panel the crack eventually spread to about 100 mms long and 3 mms wide---it was where the gas strut on the front locker door attached to the panel on the nearside only---with further cracks starting from the hinge bracket above. The cracks on the...

    3rd NEW FRONT PANEL

HI. I tow with the latest model KIA Sportage, having towed the previous two Arivas with the previous model Sportage----no problems with cracks on their front panels. I am told that the front panels for Lunar and Elddis are now made in Poland due to the original UK manufacturer going out of...

    3rd NEW FRONT PANEL

By now my 2015 Lunar Ariva (less than 2 years old) will be back at the Lunar factory having the entire front panel replaced for the second time. Yes, that's correct. 3 panels in less than 2 years due to cracks appearing in the fiberglass. Very off putting. I suspect that Lunar have gone too...

    Hitch jammed on towball.

I have seen caravanners in the past actually striking the hitch with a hammer to disconnect the hitch. I advised them to apply the caravan handbrake---draw the car forward gently to STRETCH the coupling, then try again to disconnect. Hey presto---it worked. That's the secret>>>caravan handbrake...

    One....or both clubs?

We have been members of both Clubs for over 30 years now. We find that there are parts of the country where one particular club has all the sites and the other club has none----and vice versa. So, we reckon that it certainly pays to be members of both clubs

    Cracks in Front Panel

We had to have a new front panel fitted to our 2015 Lunar Ariva last October due to cracks appearing. One large crack where the strut from the door to the panel aperture was attached and more cracks at the hinge bracket. The caravan was only 15 months old. Similar cracks are now appearing in the...

    Weighbridge worries!

Your message comes back to a message that I posted quite some time ago.I took our totally empty caravan to the local weighbridge and according to the ticket it was OVER the Maximum Laden weight already. The operator told me that the weighbridge was calibrated for heavy goods vehicles and could...

    Laying caravan up for winter

HI cb. And some of those pipes are installed before the interior fittings and may be damn near impossible to access later in the caravan's life. Keep your fingers crossed.

    Laying caravan up for winter

Hi RayS. Seems like we are both on the same wavelength. Pity that caravan manufacturers-/-designers don't think the same way. What with light switches etc.in stupid places I'm sure that I would be a useful addition to their design teams? I wonder how many of these designers actually go...

    Laying caravan up for winter

After draining off the water I always go one step further and (with the drain still open) I attach a rubber pipe to the furthest tap/taps away from the drain valve and blow like the clappers (usually takes a few lungs full) until I hear gurgles at the front end of the 'van. You would be...

    Newfangled KIA 13 pin electrics

Hi Hutch. After 32 years caravanning i had got used to the supply to the fridge disconnecting as soon as the engine was switched off. So, i was more than a little concerned when this present system failed to do that. Whatever was wrong with the old system ???

    Newfangled KIA 13 pin electrics

Thanks to my hand held LED 13 pin circuit tester I found that the supply to the caravan fridge on my new Sportage was not switching off when I switched the engine off. No problem folks, this is a new system. This Universal kit (AC09236050) is designed to be self switching at the pre-set voltage...
