someone recommend a 1 night stop over site on A1m.

The easiest is the CC site at Newark, it's right beside the A1, we stayed there last year on our way to the Broads and are doing the same this year. Jim

Best 'spray' for caravan towing electrics?

I've always used petroleum jelly or vaseline and spread it liberally inside all sockets, works a treat. Jim

What a rip off, "I don't believe it"!!

Not a caravan rip off but 2 weeks ago I phoned DeLonghi to order a new 6mm O ring for my coffee machine. They asked me £2-63 for the part and £4 for postage, it must have weighed all of 2 grammes if that, so he got told where to put it and I trawled the local car and plumbing shops until I found...

    That sinking feeling

We had sandy pitches on our first trip to France in 1994 and our jockey wheel dug in as well, we had a pneumatic one for the 1995 trip to the same site and it floated across the sand, needless to say it's been a permanent fixture since. It makes manual manoevering a piece of cake.

    Beechwood Grange, York

All you have to do when you leave the site is cross the small roundabout, then drive for about 3/4 mile and at the next roundabout take the second exit which will take you to the park and ride ( Monk's Cross ).

    TV reception

We recently stayed at Bladon Chains and the analogue picture was terrible, only pulled in 3 channels with the Status 530 aerial, so I thought the digital signal would be worse. I had a chat with the wardens and bought an extension to plug into their bollard as they said I would get 90 channels...

    Site in Cotswolds

We spent last week at Bladon Chains and thoroughly enjoyed it, the wardens were brilliant and always smiling, it's right next to Blenheim Palace and Winston Churchill is buried in the local churchyard. Jim

    LIGHTWEIGHT AWNING

I've also bought the 390 Kampa, saw it erected at Catterick Caravans alongside an Ultima 390 and the Kampa looks so much better made, although

Have you made long term friends whilst caravanning.

We met a family from Derbyshire while we were at Royan 5 years ago and we have become good friends and meet up in France every year and also a couple of weekends in this country. We are planning to go and stay with them over Christmas for a couple of days as well.

    Calais to Royan

Last year we went via Rouen, stayed at Beaumont sur Sarthe, which is about half way, then headed for Angers on the A11, then onto the A83 until jct 7 then head for La Rochelle, Rochefort as it's toll free road and onto Royan. The year before we went again via Le Mans but then to Tours, Poitiers...
