Readers Letter in April issue of Practical Caravan Magazine

Quote "I've no wish to re-open old wounds or to revive a discussion that has been aired on the forum many times but one of our forum regulars, Roger L, had a letter published in the letters page of the April edition of Practical Caravan Magazine (Page 14). Bet you wish you hadn't opened up old...

Kampa Rally 390 Lightweight Type Awnings - Advice

I have had the Towsure 260 porch for 4 years - easy to erect and quality is ok. It does the job of being an play area for kids,(table and chair etc) and also part of the walk in wardrobe for coats and shoes

    Why do people do this?

Is the van always in this state or just the morning that you were "having a look" ? Maybe the van was about to be moved - was it attached to a car at the time. Or mind your own business and stop making assumptions.

DFDS Caravan Dover/Calais ferry - £29.00 car and caravan low season, £39.00 high season, free amendments.

Val Thanks for that. I have just booked the crossing for August. These prices had disappeared from the CC site so I was getting concerned about the costs. Thanks again Jon

    Mondeo Estates Suspension

Which series Mondeo are you talking about. The old Mk3's had self levelling as standard on the estates models Zetec S,Ghia, Ghia X and ST TDCi. The MK4's have it as an option only on the estate's. Hope this helps. P.S I had a MK3 Zetec S Estate and was a very able towcar.

    Ownership of a 4x4

Don't quite see why people should justify what car they own and why they "need" it. Car's and caravan's are bought for different reasons and no one is the same - bought my first cavavan back in 2005 so as a family we could go on holiday's and as both my wife and myself were taken as kids in...

Ford Mondeo Diesel v VW Passat Diesel

My first van was an Amara 500/5 2005 model towed with a 2002 Mondeo Zetec S diesel estate. Great towing car IMO - go for at least the 130bhp and all estate models from Zetec S upwards have self-leveling suspension. Can't comment on the Passatt but the Mondoe is a well respected tow car and would...

    LR Freelander 2wd

My wife has a Ford Kuga and she love's it. TBH it is great fun to drive and throw through the corners. If your wife likes her Focus then the Kuga might be the way forward for her.

towcar with space for 2 great danes

Aplogies - should have said the old shape S-max has a kerbweight of 1802 kg. They did loose weight when they were facelifted !!

towcar with space for 2 great danes

The kerbweight for most S-max's is 1800kg - so well within the weight of your caravan. Where did you get these figures from ? My old Mk3 Mondeo hatch weighed in at 1650kgs. The 85% is only a guidance by the various organisations and publications and has no legal standing. IMO it should be...
