Price for changing Van to 13-Pin Electrics?

My new Honda CR-V has a 13 pin socket, my '06 Senator Oklahoma has twin 7-pin plugs. I know I can buy an adaptor but that just means more weak links in the chain, so to speak. Spoke with the caravan dealer's workshop and they quoted "about £100" to change the van electrics. Seems rather a high...

    chartres

We have used this site on outward and return trips to Sw France & Spain for the last three years or so. The facilities have always been clean. The very small, dark brown tiles give the toilet block etc a dated appearance but that is all it is - appearance. There have been some itinerants...

    New Kia Sorento

When the new Sorento arrived in the showrooms in April, I had a test drive of the auto. In discussing it with the Sales Manager, I noticed that the nose-weight limit for the auto is only 80kg, compared with 100kg for the manual. My caravan has a MTPLM of 1500kg and typically has a nose-weight of...

Microwave in Senator Oklahoma - Replacement?

Thanks Alan - just before seeing your reply I had ordered a Daewoo KOR6L15 700W from Amazon. Exactly the same dimensions as the original and also has the same simple dial controls. Hopefully the interior finish will last a bit longer than the four years of the defunct one.

Microwave in Senator Oklahoma - Replacement?

The internal finish of the Daewoo KOR63F7SL 700W silver microwave oven in our '06 Oklahoma has bubbled and lifted in numerous places, so I think it is time to replace it. This particular model seems to have been discontinued so I have been searching for a similar 700W oven with same/similar...

    ADAC breakdown insurance

Thanks for the feedback, Jonathon. I looked at the ADAC website English page and they make clear a German address is needed in order to join on-line. Presumably us Brits would need to either phone the German ADAC HQ or write to them in order to join? Another point that comes to mind is that...

A word of warning for non-bookers...........

Now in the 8th week of our trip to Germany and compared with previous years the sites are considerably less busy. At present we are at the beautiful Roeders Park site just outside Soltau and very unusually it is only circa 50% occupied. Talking to the owner of the site on the island of R

    ADAC breakdown insurance

The ADAC policy sounds very interesting for _98. We have used Red Pennant for years but as others have commented, it is expensive. Does the ADAc policy cover trips of any length (with RP we have the annual multi-trip, max 66 days per trip) ? Also, does the ADAC policy cover casravan breakdown...

    Dometic Fridge - 230v Needs 12v Battery?

Thanks for the replies everyone. The Oklahoma's in-built battery charging box does appear to have been fried by the lighting strike (despite the circuit breaker tripping) hence the eventually flat battery and the discovery that the fridge does not work on 230v without a 12v battery! The local...

    Dometic Fridge - 230v Needs 12v Battery?

The Dometic fridge in our Senator Oklhoma S5 works (like just about every other caravan fridge) on either gas, 12v or 230v. However, until now I had not realised that to run on 230v you actually need 12v also (or at least, you need the 12v leisure battery to be fitted). We are on site in...

    2010 Kia Sorento

What no-one has so far mentioned is that the new Sorento has a noseweight limit of only 80kg. Therefore based on the Caravan Club's 7% recommendation, this would limit you to towing little more than 1200kg! I spoke with our local main dealer about the change to the noseweight limit and asked...

    Germany

As mentioned by Lutz, Coburg is an interesting place to visit. Details of our visit to that area can be found here [URL="http://www.kdmercer.com/Caravan_Touring.html#Tour_of_Germany_2007"]here (scroll down to where the pictures of Bamberg, Coburg and Lichtenfels are shown). The municipal site...
