    Cascade 2 Hot Water

Pete I remember having a Cascade on a previous caravan. After long periods of drain down it could be a bit difficult to get the water flowing and sometimes you had to drain and refill the system several times. Have you tried heating the water? Sometimes hot water helps get rid of the air locks...

    Interesting Petition

I only look in here now and then as there is often so little going on. Does the magazine promote this forum enough? However I have quoted below the official response from the Caravan and Motorhome Club. I thought it an interesting reply but most of the information is hardly unexpected except for...

Hi, and a question about visiting nearby sights

Our experience of Continental touring is that there are lots of campsites near to towns and generally they are served better by public transport. An alternative might be cycles either pedal or electric as you often find good cycle ways in Europe. We tend not to use Aires but have used a couple...

    Satellite issues

It could well be that the Satellite System software needs updating as there are often minor changes to them. I have an 85cms Mecatronic dish and a few months ago I had to go back to Road Pro to have it re-programmed. David

Whale Expanse water heater on test

That sounds like what they fit to the Bailey Advance range. The trouble is you also need a blown air heater (also Whale) so I am wondering if there is any overall weight saving compared to the Truma Combi boiler? I suspect the Combi is bulky in comparison? David

    Sat Nav

Graham There used to be, what I imagine was similar, for TomTom. It was a little program called Tyre which could be used to plan intinaries with Google Earth. Unfortunately TomTom seem to have gone down the route of minimal input by owners so that feature is no longer available. David

    British TV in spain

We watched a few UK programmes via the internet in the South of France using Filmon direct into our laptop, would have been even better if we could have run it through the TV. It worked reasonably well but I suspect it will depend on the speed and reliability of the internet connection and how...

    Sat Nav

For a number of years I have driven through Europe using TomTom sat navs and in the main they have been fine. On my current device, a Start 60, I have added the Camper maps as a much cheaper alternative to buying a dedicated camper sat nav. The thing about sat navs is that they are creature of...

    Bailey Approach Advance 665 review

Very good value but do wonder whether you wouldn't be better off investing in the alternative Autograph range. They seem to be trying out some different layouts in the Advance, some of which I would like to see in the Autograph range. David

    Silver screen

I have a Taylormade external screen and I have put it on over winter with no ill effects, so far. I have the longer version which covers the bonnet vents on the Peugeot to save excessive rain getting into the vents. David

    Air-assist suspension explained

Thanks for the reply. I am getting too old to crawl under motorhome, the Bailey might be too low for my shape anyway ;) There are so many nice to haves on motorhomes!!! David

The Carefree Winter Sun £75 RIP-OFF

Both Clubs subsidise they Overseas site operations by making a profit on ferry crossings. So in the scheme of things they have to make a level playing field so those that do book crossing don't end up subsidising those that don't book . All this can be avoided by doing everything yourself. David

    towcar

Dave On a thread elsewhere the consensus was that towing a conventional auto car is not a good idea as it could cause very expensive problems. As far as limits are concerned it really depends of the weight and towing restrictions of the motorhome. The cars you have mentioned are quite light so...

    Campsites - 'Stellplätze' in Germany

Good to see the Fussen Camperstop in sunshine, it poured with rain when we were there!!! Thanks for posting, most interesting and well made. David
