Thetford fridge is useless when its hot!

I read threads about people even fitting fans in the back as a permanent fixture but essentially I found only a slight improvement by using the fan. Essentially i was blowing hot air into the back to replace the slightly hotter air already in there.

Taking food into Europe whilst caravanning.

Well we wish we had just packed the fridge as normal. No one checked or even looked like they were going to check for a sneaky bottle of milk or pack of bacon. Lesson learned for next time. :)

Thetford fridge is useless when its hot!

So just got home from a month in Italy and France. It was our first EU caravan trip and learned a lot of lessons along the way. We had the van and car serviced before we left, had noisy towball issues on all the hot journeys 30-37deg but not on the last leg home which was raining and 17deg. I...

Truma heater melted the shower cubicle side wall.........

Genius Gafferbill..... Put my phone down the back of the heater and took a photo and sure enough there is a lever cranked all the way to one side which I assume is diverting the heat to the shower. You can't see it from the front but you're definitely correct. I'll make some adjustments to it...

Truma heater melted the shower cubicle side wall.........

Question: Truma heater in 2010 Lunar Quaser 546 has 2 vent pipes off the back. 1 feeds the shower cubicle vent about 10 inches away, the other feeds the rest of the van vents...... Its melted the side wall of the cubicle as we had it on setting 7 out of 9 temp. See the story below that I pasted...

Taking food into Europe whilst caravanning.

I must admit I find it hard to believe they would be bothered in checking all the caravans and motorhomes fridges. Will still be taking milk for the journey but maybe scale back the rest. It will cut down the weight anyway.

Taking food into Europe whilst caravanning.

Bit of an odd question, but I've just been going through the check list for our trip to France next month. Apart from all the stuff like triangle, spare bulbs etc. It says you can't take food items like milk and meat. Has anyone had this enforced or checked recently. Are they really going to...

    Which route to Lake Garda?

Thanks for the info, didn't know about the Austrian vignette, will take a look. I love how we have to pay a fortune to drive abroad yet its free to drive on British roads for visitors. Very generous. :)

    Which route to Lake Garda?

We're visiting Ypres over the border in Belgium on the first day and overnight so this makes sense, thanks.

    Which route to Lake Garda?

Hi We're towing the caravan to Lake Garda in August (crossing to Calais) but I'm unsure of which way to go either through Switzerland or Germany. On the route planners the Swiss way is about 1 hour quicker and 60-70miles shorter. But the Swiss Vignette is very annoying for both the car and the...

    Lunar roof vent leak question.

Thanks for your response. I did find the same thing on another thread elsewhere bit 1 other issue doesn't exactly make it a common problem. If it was particularly windy or torrential rain I could accept it. Looks like a removal and reseal job to do then. Cheers

    Lunar roof vent leak question.

This is our 2nd year of caravanning and with a 10 year old Lunar I'm no stranger to the odd issue. This weekend after rain, we found water was dripping down the air vent above the microwave then out via the corner of the wood trim. The air vent is a small mushroom type on the roof though with no...
