    Snow fun for CC members

Here, on the East/West Sussex border, we had no weather warnings, in fact we had no snow of any consequence from about a week before Christmas. I actually joked that we were living in a bubble as we were virtually unaffected after the first wave of heavy white stuff. We called the site to...

    Motorhomes banned?

I would seriously doubt it, the quote below is taken from the Caravan Club website today:- "Membership of The Caravan Club currently stands at almost 375,000 households, representing the interests of 1 million caravanners, motor caravanners and trailer tent owners. Members enjoy access to the...

    Snow fun for CC members

There is certainly no consistency in what you can expect, even on the same site from year to year. We too were on a CC site over Christmas and New Year, Husband arrived on Christmas Eve Eve and had to dig out our pitch himself with a yellow Millenco levelling ramp. No offer to do it for us...

    Mondeo tdci clutch

before you spend any money, do a search on here for Mondeo + clutch, many many of us have had problems with smelly clutches after reversing on to pitches, it's a common fault with a dual mass fly wheel, stinks a bit but no lasting problems, takes about 3 days for the smell to go away though...

    Number Plates

We got our new (to us) car last week and have a similar problem, I took the small slip from the bottom on the V5 showing my details as new owner, and my photo driving licence to Halfords and they made my rear plate no problem. Apparantly the slip has to be less than 2 months old to allow them...

    Dogs in Cars

You misread my post drsorento, I don't have children I can't stand them (though in retrospect it's usually the parents that are the problem not the actual children) - I said that you may not be too impressed if I suggested you leave YOUR children at home.

    Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2.7 v 3.1 Diesel Automatic

UPDATE - we got one!! Yay!!! Picked him (the numberplate says Ed) up this morning, he's gorgeous, and I'm very excited about our next trip away in the 'van to test him out. Many thanks to everyone for their advice, first thing I checked was the aircon, and very pleased to report it was ice...

    Dogs in Cars

So I'm not supposed to leave my dog in the caravan in case she barks (she doesn't but I'm playing devils advocate here) but I'm not supposed to take her to the supermarket to get my shopping when I'm away in my caravan, pray what am I supposed to do with her??? Not a particularly helpful...

    Ultraheat problems

Hi, quick answer as on my phone at the moment which is hard work but I expect my Truman at least 15 minutes to start chucking out warm air. Turn it up high, turn the fan off, close caravan door and do some outside job, come back and you'll notice it's warming up Hth

    Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2.7 v 3.1 Diesel Automatic

Thank you Darryl, that's the exact kind of info I was looking for. Test drove one at the weekend, liked it but wasn't happy with a few bits and pieces (mostly cosmetic) so dealer is hunting for another for me. I'm very excited, and more so now I have some factual info to support my search...

    Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2.7 v 3.1 Diesel Automatic

Thursdays Child - thank you for taking the time to reply, it's good to hear from someone actually using one. Thanks for the warning about the AirCon, I will put it on the questions list and be very aware when I test drive on Friday. Our van is a mid sized single axle but I do have a hankering...

    Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2.7 v 3.1 Diesel Automatic

We're looking to change from a 2.0TDCI Mondeo estate to the Jeep, Mondeo is OK but I love 4x4s. I've done the What Tow Car comparison, I've checked Parkers for reviews, etc. but I wondered if anyone had an real experience or knowledge regarding the difference between the 2.7 and the 3.1. Both...

    Heater Thermostat

I agree with Damien, I would see it as a positive not a negative, especially as mine needs doing and I can't get the damn front of my heater as it's jammed :o(

    advice on satellite tripods

Up until recently we had a konig tripod and it worked really well as it gives a complete range of motion. Sadly it broke and we had to buy another brand as we were away and could not find a konig for immediate collection. Husband has canibalised the konig for bits to put on the new one for...
