    Handbrake adjustment

If you're not sure then it's best to get a caravan engineer to do the job. It might cost only 30 minutes' labour, and it's not worth taking a chance with brakes. This sort of thing would be picked up at the service. When was it last serviced?

Overnight at Dover dock. What facilities are there, if any?

I'm not sure whether you can check in and "go airside" too far in advance of your booked sailing. We usually park up in Marine Parade fot the night, and check in as normal in the morning. Once you're queued up in the lanes then there are toilet and wash blocks available. Some are the older...

    tolls

On some autoroutes it is cheaper in the week rather than at weekends; we have been charged cat 1 despite towing a poptop caravan. Like BM, we just pay what we're asked.

    RIB,s and Towing

I wouldn't get rid of a car that had done just 12,000 miles. It has loosened up and settled down, and you should have 40,000 relatively trouble-free miles ahead of you. Don't give that away to someone else! Forget the 85% ratio, for unbraked you need 50%. You can tow up to half the kerbweight...

have you been down the A30 lately

I know this is totally obvious, but if you avoid Saturdays you avoid most of the problems. Last time we were in Cornwall we'd listen to the local travel news every Saturday. Long tailbacks A30 Indian Queens ... they should have just put on a recording. Probably did.

    A society with double standards.

Mmm, this will stir up trouble. Colin's spelling mistake changes the meaning ... "However when my son started universaty he noticed that a room was set up for muslims to prey in."

And another point. Were the club to pay interest on fees in the holding account, it would be required by law to deduct 20% income tax.

Re Ian's post ... why is litigation always seen as the answer? We are becoming as bad as the Americans. A recent case of note concerned a lawyer whose trousers were mislaid by a Dry Cleaning firm. The lawyer claimed $54M - read all about it here...

    RIB,s and Towing

PS - if you're worried about towing an unbraked trailer ... Most responsible people drive more steadily and are far more observant when towing. Therefore, they are less likely to need the full capability of the brake system. Fact - when we had the Golf we managed 38mpg solo, and I was...

    RIB,s and Towing

If the trailer is light enough, there is no need for brakes. And I'd question the need to change your Polo. As long as you can get a towbar for it and the outfit is within limits, then the Polo will pull a RIB just fine. I used to tow a trailer tent with a 1978 1500cc VW Golf.
