    Satillite TV

Hi Brian. Having read your post i tried this with my spare box but, as before, i get the message saying it is the wrong card for the set top box when trying to view sky sports etc. Can you let me know where you got the info from regarding Sky's change of heart? Many thanks.

    Generator

Hi Paul, Sorry for the delay in coming back on your second question about the on board charger. Yes it will work to a fashion but leisure batteries need to a boost of around 14.4v to ensure they get fully charged and most on board chargers give around 13.5 to 13.8v. Hence I use a separate 2...

    Generator

hi Paul, Personally I would not recommend that you use a generator for viewing a TV or DVD as this would suggest you intend having it running for long periods of time. I'm surprised you haven't been vilified on this already. If your TV and /or DVD are 12v then brilliant if not I would suggest...

    ALDE heating system

Hi Angela, On our system the button is covered by a plastic cover and obviously this needs to be remove to be able to push the button. I am concerned that the heating is working but you have no hot water as the hot water is a "by product" of the heating process. The boiler heats the central...

For those who think our jails are to soft

Quote Maybe if all prisons were like this one, there would be a lot less crime and/or repeat offenders. Here lies the problem. The lawyers will never allow it. they make too much money out of crime. If a criminal can't / doesn't want to commit crime he is of no use to the lawyers so they'll...

    alko wheelock

I too am one of the happy brigade. When i arrive at a site (mainly CLs) I park the 'van in the spot the wife chooses ;o) level it side to side with a ramp if needed and then before unhitching the car (so i can leave the handbrake off and the wheels turn freely) jack the side up with a "Kojack"...

    Self-Build Caravan

I can vaguely remember some years back (not too far) an article about a self build that the builder called an Opus 1. It must have been in PC or Caravan Life 'cos that's the only 2 I've ever bought. Would love to do one myself but unless i get the 6 numbers up it will always be just a dream...

Hmmm. Possibly. Still reckon the barren 'van is favourite mind.

    "No Children"

Good points Lisa. Or maybe the 'van hasn't had children?

do I need to connect all 4 speakers on a car radio

Just make sure the wires can't "short" with each other. There will be a control - possibly in the menu called "fader". This is like a front / rear balance control. So you should have it adjusted fully to front (or rear if you've used the rear speaker wires.

    Perhaps they don't have children??

    waste/water

"The one thing in common is that all waste pipes will take the shortest practical route from sink or shower etc to either one side exit or the other, or to the rear of the van" Sorry Damian but I disagree. Most vans now seem to be intent in getting all waste outlets to the same point which...

    Recommended LCD TV for caravanning/camping

Hi Chris. I too like to be unhindered by hook ups and bought a cheap 12v flat screen. It was a Crown and had a good write up on test in PC mag - big mistake I'm afraid (when will they get real 'vanners to test these things?). The trouble with the cheaper 12v TVs and with using an inverter is...
