Scotland: Best parks + Why (tourin)

Muasdale Holiday Park, about halfway down the Kintyre peninsula. Fairly basic, nothing fancy, and a teeny bit exposed, but lovely with it.

    Trewethett Farm

We stayed there back in 1984 for 2 lovely weeks, but that wass before it was owned by the CC. It looks too neat and tidy now, lost it`s natural look. Beautiful view from there though.

    Riverbank Park, Isle of Sheppey

Thank you Phil, I`d already been on that site, it says closed in 2007 for refurbishment, but I assumed it would be open again this year.

    Riverbank Park, Isle of Sheppey

Is anyone able to tell me if this park is still in operation please? I`m looking for a quiet touring park for a few days in April, and someone gave me the name of this park, but the website doesn`t seem to work, and emails have returned to me. Any info will be welcome, thank you.

    mini season,scotland

I agree about Loch Lomond, but we thought that the road to Milarrochy Bay site was a trifle rough? We liked the Camping and Caravanning Club`s site on the opposite side of the loch, at Luss, especially if you can get a lochside pitch, as we did. I`d also highly recommend Muasdale Holiday Park...

    Cornwall in November

Hi Roger, If they`re open, the Screech Owl Snctuary is a good trip out, also, the National Birds of Prey Sanctuary. If you`re planning on doing a fair bit of driving, why not go down to Marazion and go over to St.Michael`s Mount?

Cherry Tree Caravan Site Sutton on Sea

Hi Trevor, A bit late I know, but we`ve just come back from a weekend at Cherry Tree. We thought it was OK, very well laid out, all hard standing pitches, and adults only, but it`s a mile and a half from Sutton-on-Sea itself. There`s a great fish and chip shop in Sutton, but they`re really slow...

    sites in wales

A few miles ouside Caernarfon, there`s a fabulous beach, Dinas Dinlle, and there`s a caravan park nearby, but don`t know it`s name, sorry. We spotted it whilst on a trip out to the airport there, to see the Aircraft museum. If you want to go over the Britannia Bridge to Anglesey, the Capel Elen...

    Seafield caravan park , northumberland.

We stayed there a few years ago before the leisure centre, etc., was added, and loved it, but we love the area anyway.

    Sites with fishing

More than an hour I`m afraid, but The Orchards at Hubberts Bridge near Boston has been praised by fishing mad relatives who`ve stayed there.

I haven`t stayed here, because I live in the area, but The Orchards at Hubberts Bridge near Boston comes highly recommended

    Caravan ovens

Thank you for the replies, I have emailed the dealer who fitted our new rooflight last year, but have been waiting several days now and no answer. I think I`m going to have to ring them. Yes, Barbara, I am numberplease on 2 other forums. I guess you`re talking about HT, but I`m also a member on...

    Newbie

Hello Maureen, thanks for the welcome. I didn`t realise that Practical Caravan had a forum till last night! The site we fell for in Scotland is at Muasdale on the Kintyre Peninsula. It`s nothing special, just a small field right next to the beach. We stepped out of the van and we were only 6ft...

Hello, I`ve just joined the forum. We used to have a Compass Rallye 400GT, 1990, but we recently decided that she`d had her best days and that we wanted to update. Unfortunately we couldn`t afford to update as far as we would have liked, so we now have a Swift Silhouette Diamond, 1993 model...
