We have a 150hp Kodiaq 2X4 DSG and it's great. 36mpg too whilst towing.

Quite happy with my Kodiaq.

We used to tow a van at 1355kg with a 1.4tsi Skoda Yeti. The VW engine is more advanced with the ACT but very similar. The Yeti was manual and 4X4. It towed really well and averaged 26/28mpg. It was much more refined in normal day to day use than our current diesel Kodiaq.

I have a 150bhp Diesel DSG Kodiaq and tow a Sprite at 1355kg MTPLM. Tows great but doesn't really answer your question. Used to tow with a petrol Yeti which was only a 150bhp 1.4 and that towed well. Only swapped as I wanted the larger boot. The petrol Yeti was much more refined.

Our isolating switch is located in the battery box. Our first van but I was led to believe this was the usual location. If ours is left inactive for more than a few minutes it resets and has to be switched on again.

Our Sprite Freedom 6 squealed on it's first trip out. Been fine since so just took it to be brake dust from beding in brake shoes. Been fine since.

Currently towing a Sprite Freedom 6 with a 1.4 tsi 4X4 L&K Yeti and yes it's a petrol. Van has a mtplm of 1355kg and the Yeti pulls it a treat. We now have a Kodiaq on order not due to the Yeti lacking in towing prowess but in boot space. It's our second Yeti and not had any problems at all.

Good to my word. I test drove the Kodiaq on Sunday and placed an order for a 2.0ltr diesel SE 2 wheel drive DSG in moon white metallic. Extras towbar and front and rear parking sensors. Roll on July when it 'might' be delivered.

On motorhome wind outs there are two very substantial bars which support the weight and are designed to stop it doing what you suggest.
