    Hobbies that are caravan friendly?

As an amateur radio operater I find it goes ok with caravanning, except when I try to rig up a top band dipole (Google it!!)

    Changing battery with solar panel

I don't think 40 volts would kill you, anyway, remember the old saying "Volts jolts, mills kills". You can take a 10,000 volt shock that will give you a fair old belt, but not kill you, but a few milliamps will.

    Lifepo4 Batteries

I know the advantages of Lifepo4 batteries, and I notice that the prices have dropped dramatically. You can now get a 100AH one for around £200. My question is, are they worth buying, has anyone tried one of the cheaper ones, or is it a case of you get what you pay for?

    Every cloud and all that

I understand that animal welfare is allowed, although as our field gate is literally 5metres away directly opposite our gate it doesn't really cause a problem. You are allowed to take dogs out I think, but as has been said, once (if) this is all over we will face some huge changes. I'm lucky, my...

    Every cloud and all that

I understand B&Q are doing the same as Screwfix, only certain items and on click and collect. Got plenty of jobs to do, we're lucky, we own a 3 acre field opposite our house with our horses on, who need usual care, and we also keep our caravan on it. Maybe the only place we use it this year...

    Discovery

Had a go in a friends Landrover Discovery series 3 yesterday. Wow! They produced the worlds best luxury 4X4 with the new Rangerover, and now they have produced the perfect mid-range 4X4. We'll ignore the Freelander, but they just can't do any wrong. Not only the best 4X4 but the best car of any...

    Fog lights

Time for another discussion. What are the members feelings on the modern curse, fog lights? These must be the most miss-used items fitted to modern cars. Rear fog lights are a good idea, front ones are generally useless. Now most drivers don't seem to know that fog lights should only be used in...

    Fast towing

Wow! That is so impressive and sooo useful. OK on a test track, what happens when you have to make an emergency stop? To much watching Jeremy Clarkson and his boy racer buddies methinks!

    4X4

You've answered you own question. The reason most 4X4's have GB stickers is that British drivers are better than their continental chums, and know that ordinary cars are not designed to tow one and a half tons of caravan. 4X4's ARE the only proper towing vehicle.

    4X4

Well, I really put the cat amongst the pigeons! It was a bit tongue in cheek, really. It seems I'm attacked on two fronts, the anti 4X4 and the anti Land Rover. 4X4s are no bigger than a lot of cars, especially the X trail/ Freelander size, are only a bit heavier, as economical as many cars, and...
