Twin Axle with Alko and AWD Mover

Does Al-Ko's own mover fit in the same place or does it leave the jacking point free?

Twin Axle with Alko and AWD Mover

Possibly but: The front of the caravan should be higher anyway when moving a twin axle caravan to relieve strain on the wheels as the caravan turns, so once the rear lock is on you shouldn't need to lift much more. Only did it once when I had forgot my jack wouldn't recommend doing it all...

    Thetford Toilet Leak??

Cant see why not it's as thin as water and designed for rubber seals, got to be better than Olive oil or Vaseline.... It's better than anything else if you haven't got the Thetford spray to hand.

Twin Axle with Alko and AWD Mover

A small trolley jack will fit between the wheels and you can jack on the central part of the chassis but don't use a trolley jack on soft ground A second strong place to place a jack is on the cross bar of the mover where it bolts to the chassis only place a jack at the strongest point where it...

Keeping the battery topped up when not hooked up

As martin says the main consumption will be the lights so change to LEDs We have an 80w panel on the roof the only problem to date was one morning the battery was to low for the motor movers. Don't forget, "yes" the fridge does work on gas but still needs 12v to work the circuit board and...

    Gas Bottles

Can't see much issue with the weight one bigger tank may well work out lighter than two cylinders and could be fitted more central reducing nose weight some cars have them running underneath along the sills similar tanks could be fitted to the inside of the caravan chassis and could run the...

What towing combination can I drive on B license?

I tow a twin axle Coachman with a 9 seat Ford Transit MPV (Tourneo Trend) only downside I have found is it can get STUCK if the field gets wet and soft. But we have a quad mover on the caravan and this has got us out of trouble more than once.... once the caravan is back on firm ground can then...

    Gas Bottles

I would have thought some kind of system built in by the manufacturer would be a lot safer than having cylinders, you could have bigger shaped tanks that fit in a corner somewhere with factory sealed joints the technologies there, cars have had bespoke systems fitted for years. Yes that is a...

Leaving the heating on in winter

In our older vans we had a small oil filled heater on low With our new van we have left the heater on at 9º but we do tend to leave the caravan all packed and use it all year round also our kids use it for their music lessons. I must say even at just 9º the caravan feels nice and cozy. I don't...

with what do you sterilise your water system

When we bought our first caravan the water was green and the pipes had turned black inside I hate to think how many years the water had been laying in them, the job was far to much to ask of Milton so I had to find something with some muscle so I gave them a good flush through with a strong mix...
