    Awning channel lube

Get a metre length of string, tie a small piece of cloth to each end, spray furniture polish on one and enter it into the awning channel, pull it through and pull it back. Replace with the dry piece of cloth to polish it. Works a treat.

    Tips for cleaning awning rail?

I always found effective is a length of tough string, on one end tie a small piece of soft cloth 2” x 2”, the same the other end. Spray one cloth with furniture polish and pull it through the awning rail a couple of times, then use the other piece to polish off a couple of times, it will pull...

    Air awning advice please

I agree with you Mr P. Having had numerous poled awnings and while erecting the last one the wind caught the pole and we ended up with a lovely dent in the van wall. Changed to an air, Kampa Air 400. Heavy to put in and out of the car, we erect it the same as you do. I pull it through with...

    FIRST VAN RECOMMENDATIONS

And when you have ingested all the above it might be a good idea to get a small A5 exercise book and partition it off and mark the partitions with the things you require to take, His, Hers, Dogs, Last minute things, while away you will need to remedy things when home so I have one marked, To...

    New Insurer enters Caravan Market

I have moved to them, £126.00 new for old. My current insurer upped the cost to over £300.00, CMC wanted over £450.00, nothing was below £285.00, I got disenchanted looking. I am hoping this is a kick to all the insurance companies to return to sensible prices.

    Dash Cam advice please.

We have a Next Base and Halfords wired it in to both of our cars so we can move it from car to car. The only thing I found was that when I was sitting in the car one afternoon and saw three people acting in a suspicious manner, I downloaded the footage, but the light was so poor you could not...

    skiing in Scotland

Having learnt to ski in Scotland at the Cairngorms (Aviemore) at the base of the hill is the Glenmore Campsite which is equipped for winter activities. I found that if it snowed it would come in a westerly horizontally, no two days are rarely the same when skiing in Scotland. I would think...

    Diamond brite...yay or nay

We had Paintseal applied to our van when purchased in 2013, still good today, we ran out of the shampoo supplied by Paintseal but a friendly detailer said just use Fairy non bio clothes washing liquid. Works a treat. But if we wanted to protect another van I would contact a firm called...

    Air awnings.

I agree with all that has been said, over the years we have had about five full sized poled awnings, three porch poled an then we purchased a Kampa 400 Ace with poles. We found that this model pooled water on the roof so returned it and are now on a Ace Air 400. It is heavy pulling the awning...

    Total Knee Replacements

I believe the problem after knee replacement is that of kneeling down. My sister in Law has had a knee replaced and has been told she is not to kneel on that replacement knee. A small stool or a double step to sit on while hammering in the pegs might be the answer
