    Sante fe had died.

If you can live with the wheel spinning on soft ground, why not remove the rear diff, take out the power divider located in the diff and then refit the diff.I presume the rear wheels are not rotating in different directions during a brake test thus they cannot test it.

Petrol vs diesel – head-to-head test

I think the title is a bit of a clue,if a 190hp diesel had been used there would be no comparison.

    Petrol VW Tiguan tow test

So please expain your concerns a little better what exactly is your doubt. There is little point in making a statement as you have, if you cant back it up.As I previously said I'm all ears and willing to learn.

    Petrol VW Tiguan tow test

With respect most of us understand the difference between HP and torque. Its also been debated long and hard regarding gearing and torque curves and torque vs gearing vs speed. The problem is its quite hard to compare a petrol and diesel evenly. The test here was a 180hp/236lbsft petrol,to compare...

    Petrol VW Tiguan tow test

Except in reality the petrol still cannot challenge the diesel, because the best of the modern day diesel rated at 180 hp,the same as the tested VW produces well over 300lbsft of torque. That equates to 100 lbsft of torque and that's quite a difference.

    Tow cars: the hybrid questions

Often i dont see eye to eye with John L but even i found that a little bit harsh on him.He does have some very good points, this being one of them. There is no doubt caravan engineering is poor.Repair times stink, and back up is crap.Slightly off topic whats your tie up with the marine side of things?

    Passat Estate 1.4TSI

I think the word that fails you is "progression"Generally speaking high powered engines bring short 0 to 60 times and high top speeds,it also makes an ideal towcar with lots of power.I like fast journey times with or without the van in tow,of course keeping to speed limits but that also includes...

Nissan x trail + twin axle caravan

236 lb ft to tow 1700kg to be precise.Hmm.

    Passat Estate 1.4TSI

The torque output is well below par the the stated size of caravan(180 lbft). The other problem which the figures dont tell and which i have recently found out is when these type of engines are not in the peak of the torque curve they produce very little power or torque. So what this means is when...

    Passat Estate 1.4TSI

To put a balance on this 250 nm equates to 184 lbs ft of torque. It is not healthy.Maybe 20 years ago but not now, things have moved on.Its being compared to its 1.6 tdi counter part, again no ball of fire.Seriously opt for the 2 litre tdi.

    Kuga

It would be helpful if at least the information you post was correct. The 2litre VAG lowest output is 140hp,but leaving that aside and not being padantic the engines sizing is already of 2 litres.Quite a common and average size for a passenger car diesel engine. Then to add to your debate,have...
