    Light squeak on braking

Wow this thread reveals some interesting aspects of caravan servicing. I was hoping a proper wheels/drums inspection is included by default

Well it had been dealer serviced a month ago with the squeak present so I assume they'd have flagged any concerns if there had been any?..

    Light squeak on braking

Hi all, Quite often I hear a slight squeaking sound coming from the caravan when braking. The caravan have had a full service a month ago without any issues. Sometimes I think it's not the breaks but something from the hitch as there is no sound on repeated breaking (so the overrun dumper has...

    Bulkhead gas regulator replacement

Hi All, Is it something that should be done by a certified gas engineer or is it ok to do it yourself assuming you are confident in your skills?

    BS EN 1648-1

Hi All, The answer is most likely "no" but is there a way to read the BS EN 1648-1 for a much lower cost than officially sold (~ £150)? E.g. find it at a library?

    DIY project codename DOS/4GW

Found a leak this spring - front window rail had been leaking through screws for a very long time (probably years). I guess it went unnoticed because the caravan was stored indoors and the previous owner thought the issue was in the window seals. It leaked from the rail down to the front shelf...

Water system: what am I looking at and making good

if all the electric and water components are there and are in the working condition then the water tank connection is simply a pipe to the T junction of your external water inlet. If you have it connected already but it's not working there could be a bypass switch near the water tank itself...

Tyres on a twin-axle caravan - different brands per axle

Well yeah it's some margin here, some margin there. We can calculate the centre of mass, momentum, wind, speed etc but there are always some unknowns. If the van is on a straight line the weight is distributed equally . If the van is turning or the Earth is curved enough then one of the sides...
