Well i picked the caravan up yesterday and i can tell everybody that everything is ok..the BMW pulls it ok..not too bad for a twin axle caravan,it feels really stable,even at motorway speeds..so thanks too everybody on here for all the advice,it was very much appreciated..i will keep everybody...

When i saw the van i thought it looked a big van to pull with my car but the dealer told me that it would be ok and when we looked into the details/weights etc it looked like it would be OK but i just want some reassurance from people on here. I am only going off what the cars handbook states...

I am an experianced tower as i am a hgv artic/drawbar driver so i could probably tow over the 85% ruling ok but i dont want to buy this van if it is going to be far to heavy.

I know the outfit is legally ok as my car and van are only 72% match and the guy that owned the van before me towed it with a mondeo 1.8 petrol car. The question i was asking is is an automatic ok to tow with as i have heard all sorts of horror stories that they dont make good towcars.
