12v at car but not in van

Colin, no, there is 12.odd volts at the fuse box end of the cables with the engine off and 13.84 at the fuse box end with the engine on, that is how it is supposed to be I believe. When I then reconnect the cables to the fuse box there is still 13.84 volts but no amps being drawn by either...

12v at car but not in van

Please let me clarify where I am with this to avoid the confusion I seem to have caused, I have tested the DC voltage at the caravan side of the grey plug when connected to the car and it reads 13.84V where it should, I have disconnected the cables at the fuse box inside the caravan and...

    Lack of 12v at fridge

I can't even identify it, and there is the reconnection of gas pipes if the fridge comes out, not a job I would take on purely from a safety point of view

    Lack of 12v at fridge

Took the outside grills off and could not see anything that looked like the element, what I did find were two cables marked 'nur fur 12v' which I traced back to a connector. Both cables disappeared into the fridge at the top right side so still none the wiser with regards to identifying the...

    Lack of 12v at fridge

Guys thanks, I get the point about it being more than 12v, it actually reads 13.84 on the AVO. I should have said DC. What i should also have alluded to is that I have been caravanning near on 25 years so know about electric etc but have never heard of a 12v element going on a fridge, hence why...

    Lack of 12v at fridge

Hi all, I have 12v at the fuse box in the caravan with the car engine running, so as it should be but the fridge will not work. I am told it could be the 12v heating element but am also told these do not fail! I have also been told it will cost a packet to replace, is it that difficult and can...
