    Towing, driving me mad!

I had an issue very similar to this a few years back when I transfered from a Vauxhall Carlton to a Ford Granada. In theory the Granada was heavier, more powerful and should have made a much better towcar bit it didn't. Like you I has instability issues, this was the days before the internet and...

    Choice of three new cars

I am bias on this as I drive a Kia Sorento 2.2 KX-2 auto, but I have not always driven a kia. The Kia warranty is good, and in my opinion so is the car, but you need to look at your overall requirements. I tow a 1800kg caravan so weight was important. As some of the cars you are looking at are...

    Troubles with sliding table.

Not sure what make of caravan that you are refering to but we had this happen on a Bailey Senator Series 6. But unlike you we had not placed anything that generated heat on it. Never worried and it caused no further mroblems in the 4 years we owned the caravan.

    Kia Sportage

I have just bought a new Kia Sorento and like you saw 2 figures quoted, well on recieving the V5 I see the have put in the average of the 2 figures, do I believe it as accurate.......NO. But it is acceptable for my purpose as I had calculated on the lower.

Bailey weight upgrade - Badge removal

Hi The S5 Indianna I have just sold could not be upgraded as it was already at the chassis maximum, I believe the Oaklahoma will be the same. My new S6 Wyoming has been upgraded to 1800kg, front gas box logo came off with some persistant pulling without problem, the rear did not want to be...

    Increasing MTPLM plate

Hi Having been one of the few who have been pulled by the law and found to be overweight I would advise everybody to keep to the plated weight. Following this experience I concluded that 90% of caravanners are overweight. I thought I was a careful caravanner who abided by the law but we don't...

    Levelling Twin Axle

By standing in the van to look at the spirit level you can effect the reading, especially if you are quite heavy. I always view the spirot level from outside the door, also the wife who is driving the car can hear me better.

bailey v's swift, tell me more your stories

I have a Bailey Indiana that has just been booked in for its first service, the only complaints I have are a plastic trim that has shrunk and the aerial is stiff to crank to 90deg. When I commented to the service manager that is was a rather short list and nothing had been done before his...

    Caravan bathroom

We swapped after a lot of heartache from an end bathroom moonstone to a fixed bed Indiana. I must say its much better and I would not go back to the end bathroom. That said I will point out that our kids no longer come with us so it is a luxury 2 berth to us. I'm not sure I would be saying the...
