Croatia is to be recommended. Not expensive on campsites or for hospitality. Well worth a visit but wild camping not encouraged although it appears safe. I know people who have stayed in Morocco and say it is safe as long as you stay on legitimate campsites

Not sure you would be able to bond the crack, but a spot of clear silicon in the hole you drilled would seal it

Sounds like the 240 volt transformer is faulty

Have you tried the meter across the fuse? It is just possible that the 'known good' fuse is too low amperage and has blown as you fitted it, or the contacts on the fuse board are dodgy. Also check if there is power to the input side of the fuse Good luck.
