    domestic solar

Yes. Spoke to Lifos first. They assured me that no additional equipment would be required and that any charger would be able to charge the battery due to its smart battery management electronics. I'm just trying to understand how it all works.

    domestic solar

We've just bought a hugely expensive lithium battery. It's a Lifos 68ah. When it arrived it was showing 50% discharged but still put out 13.7v at the terminals. This is entirely different to a lead acid battery which would put out around 12.2v if it were taken down by 50%. We've charged up the...

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver cap

Hi Buckman. It's the plastic blade shape on the opposite end of the brace. See photo. Mine is just a flat end bung but the previous tool had this blade/screwdriver end. I can't get my hands in there to turn the thing otherwise.

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver cap

We recently picked up a new caravan from our local dealer, supplied with an Al-Ko wheel lock. That evening when I went to put the new wheel lock on at home, I was surprised to find that there was no plastic 'screwdriver' blade fitted to the other end of the socket brace tool! On my old Al-Ko...

Thanks Woodentop, we're away again on Saturday so I'll give this a go. :)

    Caravan water filters

Ah... yes, that might be the problem. I'll check that Hutch, thanks.

    wet heating versus blown air

We can't seem to get any warm air out of our blown air system. The Truma heater on it's own works well and the fan works. However, when I switch the fan on to blow the warm air from the heater around the van it just seems to blow cold air out of the vents. The Boss has a fit if she's in the...

    Caravan water filters

My van is fitted with a Truma Ultraflow system where the cartridge fits in from the outside (the one with the blue cap) I tried to use the water system without the filter but found that water just flooded out of the cartridge socket and poured down the outside of the van. Unless I'm doing...

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver

Yes, good point. My van is a Coachman Pastiche and yes, I have checked on the offside but the receiver is fitted to the nearside only.

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver

Yes, I've got a Nemesis as well, but I was hoping to sell that in the new year to offset the cost of the Al-Ko. They're good but as you say, insurance is cheaper with the Al-Ko. Might end up keeping the Nemesis to put on the other wheel as the visual deterrent. Fort Knox!!

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver

Nothing wrong with the one I've got Dustydog. If it's big bucks and too difficult I'll make do. It's just that the lock is not only physically re-assuring, it's a visual deterrent. With mine on the offside, it gets covered by the awning skirt and the awning itself and can't be seen. If it was an...

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver

Ah, I see. I've been looking online for Al-Ko wheel lock receivers and can't even find an image of one, let alone one for sale. Are you saying they're manufactured by someone else, not Al-Ko?

    Al-Ko wheel lock receiver

Hi everyone. I've got an Al-Ko Secure wheel lock receiver fitted to the nearside wheel of my caravan. Does anyone know if these lock receivers can be transferred to the other wheel, or are they all welded in as part of the Al-Ko axle? Paul.

    sportage

You never see the Kia Sportage mentioned in the tow car awards or in any tow car reviews. I have a 2013 KX-4 and use it to tow my Coachman Pastiche 470/2. Okay, so my van is a little over the 85% rule, but only just. The MTPLM is 1,420kg and the Kia's kerb weight, as you know, is 1,600 giving an...

    Coachman Jokon awning light

Hello All. Anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement Jokon Awning light for my 2010 Coachman Pastiche? New or second hand. It's the one with a spot light downlighter built in. The lense has broken on the old one and they're not making this particular light any more. Have found it on a...
