110 ah battery

Hi all,

Anyone got any knowledge about Elecsol batteries? I need a good one as I spend a lot of time on non hook-up sites, using solar panels. The last time that I used this type, it was a good performer, with a 5 year warranty, but when, after 4.5 years, I suspected a problem, the supplying dealer said they no longer used this make because of poor back - up. In short, I got no where, gave up and bought a much cheaper make. However, despite some trepidation, I am tempted to go back and pay the high money for an Elecsol. My question is, are these as good as mine was ( until the problem),or did I just strike lucky?

I had a look at these batteries a while back and found the cost to be too high, I work on the assumption that my last 110 amp battery lasted over two years and cost

We have used an Elecsol in the circumstances you describe for the last 3 years and have had no problem, we have only recently got the solar panel so did run the battery into the red frequently beforehand, I am not sure how another 110 AH battery would have coped with this.

The 110 battery is

Hi Rod.

Cost is not the only issue to consider with Elecsol batteries, as, for a given capacity, they are lighter than ordinary batteries. However, you have to watch the model. I have the 100 Ah model as I couldn't get the 110 Ah version in the battery compartment. If I remember correctly, the larger one is also significantly heavier. I had the impression that the same casing is used for different capacities, but there is a big change in weight when the casing changes. Had the unit about 3yrs now and no problems

We bought our battery after reading up on how they work and what can go wrong. Most have a clause which can get them out of a giving you a replacement for a number of reasons. So we bought one locally from a large supplier who also do sealed and gel type batteries. Now they do offer a guarentee of 2 years on the normal leisure versions and 3 yrs on the sealed and finally 4 years on the Gel filled versions. But the price went from
