12v lighting problem

The nearside halogen spotlamp bulb on my 2 year old Abbey Aventura keeps blowing. The local Abbey dealer told me that he has seen a few of these (always involving the nearside) but was unable to give a reason. The wiring looks perfect by the way. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
