hi all. I have an elddis Hurricane EX300 approx 1997.
I am having an uber problem with the 12v system no 12v lights no water pump radio or shower system.
so far I have attacked it with a multimeter and this is what I have
battery disconnected 13.05v
battery leads disconnected 14.73v
battery and leads connected 14.56v
so the above says that there is power from the charging system EHU and some juice in the battery
I go inside and on the zig panel I switch to caravan
the volt meter goes to green
I then switch on the circuits for lights pump and aux volt meter stays green
turn the tap on or switch on the lights nothing fires up and the zig volt meter instantly drops to zero
by the way all the 240v system in the van works fine plug sockets and the 240v lights
I have tried to hunt down fuses and can find non blown however I did discover a rcd fuse box with 2 trip switches in the wardrobe in the bathroom with a black box connected to it with a green light on. reason I mention this is that earlier in the year we did have a leak in the roof which we caught in time so there was not to much damage caused by water ingress.
am I chasing an elusive fuse or could it be that the battery is FUBAR and even though showing power its not actually holding a charge . we have just been away for the week and been on EHU and there has been no change
any thoughts tips or help would be hugely appreciated as its driving me bonkers
kindest regards and thanks in advance
