HELP
we have recently bought the above caravan, now none of the 12v lights or radio will work, the battery is brand new ( have an older Leisure battery and tried that too) motor mover is working, battery meter says full power, but no lights or anything else, the 240 mains system is working fine, and battery charger light seems to be working all ok.
have read about an inline fuse, but cant find any where.. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi Ian.Two thing here spring to mind. One are you attached to the motor vehicle while you are trying the lights atc in the van .The second one is if you look carefully behind the battery you may well find there is anline fuse behind the batter or even just onside van where the power comes in. I ask if you are connected to the tow vehicle because if you are the habitation relay comes in and shuts the 12 volt side off.
I hope this helps.

no we aren't connected to the 4x4. the van is parked at the top of our drive, I have tried several times to find the inline fuser but cannot see any, found a fuse box under front seat / bed marked battery lights (above the car lights fuses for indicators etc..) changed that no difference..
am really stumped

Ian check the batter box if there is no fuse in there then follow the loom into the van.as it comes into the van there could be a fuse in there. It may not be an in line fuse but a spade fuse (Ford Type). It shouldnt be far away from that location.Ian I have just searched your van and its saying the fuse is behind the battery in the battery box.

We have a Corniche, but much older than yours. Are you sure there is no fuse in the battery box. There is a 60A fuse in ours.
Also, have you checked the changeover switch from car to caravan.
If nothing works on 12v then it seems unlikely to be one of the 12v circuit fuses.

There will not be a fuse in the battery box (except maybe for early fitted movers, but that is for the mover only).
There should be a 20Amp fuse in the positive cable just after entering the van, probably tucked under the battery box itself.

Ian just had a thought. Does the toilet flush work.I know when our power is switched off the toilet will still flush.Im thinking maybe power is still not getting through. Is there anyway you can check power is getting past your fuse you have found

Ian Have you got a multimeter.Or anyway you can actually check what is in you battery as the onboards are not that accurate.I would have thought the toilet would flush as our van is from the swift stable and flushes when power is turned off Again Ian Im clutching at straws now. If you can put a meter across your battery and get a reading that way.

Sorry for taking so long to get back.
I assume that for the purposes of testing your system that the main power from the mains supply is disconnected?

If it is not, then the battery meter in the van will be showing what the charger is supplying.
Can you advise what power distribution system you have, is it Nordelettronica?

If it is, that is where the fault will be.
