have you heard of the rave cd? it is basically the haynes manual but for the landrover and on cd! (data not audio!!)

also, if you want advise on specific cars a dedicated forum is the best way to go, the landy zone is wealth of knowledge and someone ther will know the answer!!

i dont think any of the wires around the lights wil be substantial enough to run the fridge tho. i know the range rover (p38 - 1995 to 2002) has a specific kit available for around 20 quid on ebay to supply power for the 'van!

hope this helps!

The 2 Disco3 I have had have a prewired harness for the towing connections. In the case of the Disco3 its actually behind the left cluster not the right.

Separate wires are provided for the fridge and charging feeds and if I remember correctly they are each fused for 15 amps; thus are adequate for the individual roles.

The Disco3 build includes the required relay functions.

I have no experience of series one and two Discoverys.

The 3 earlier Defenders I have had have only been wired for the lighting socket.

as stated there are specific wiring kits which make your life so much easier!! cost a bit more but worth it for hassle free installations. pay a visit to the discovery owners club too, you will meet lots of nice people who have a wealth of knoweledge about this car, there is a towing and caravan section too.
